88 ford ranger xlt 2.9 v6 4wd whats your opinion about putting a 302 in it?

something happened to my engine it was having problems when i came home sat. and i was actually looking for a part for my dads truck while he was looking at mine when he told me something slammed hard and he thinks broke anyway im just weighing my options but i was wondering what is anyones opinion or any info they can provide about putting a 86 302 mustang engine in it? i have a friend tha has the engine and was offering it to me to sell but i want to know will it fit with the drive train will i need a lot of kits to make it actually work or what? alos for the record its a carburated model 302 please email me back as well as posting your reply's

I had a buddy of mine with a older ranger that wanted to do the same thing.. [I dunno how reliable he is but I'll pass on the info].. he said you can get the kits to do it from some company in California but from what I hear.. it's sorta a pain in the ass to do..
 
I'd like to throw a Powerstroke into my ranger.. :]
