1997 F250 XL vs. XLT

Can some knowledgeable person out there please tell me the how I can tell
the difference between the XLT, the XL and if there is a even lower interior
package? The truck of interest is a 1997 F250 PowerStroke, 4x4 and the owner
claims it has the XL trim package. How do I verify that it is indeed an XL?

Lack of carpet would separate it from an XLT. I do not remember if there
was a lower trim level than XL in 1997. Manual windows, manual door locks,
rubber mat instead of carpet....all characteristics of an XL.

It also will say XL below the F250 emblem on the front fender, as opposed to
XLT
