My truck only gets 9-10 mpg. What mileage should the truck get? Why such
poor mileage?
Thanks.

I have an `89 F250 7.3ltr, 2wd, ZF 5spd Manual OD Trans, with 4.10 Axle. I
get as high as 22 on the highway. Loaded with a 9600lb trailer (combined
18,000lb) I still got 17 on the flats, Portland Oregon to San Felipe, Baja
California, Mexico.

I would say that your truck should be getting somewhere around 17-18 mpg
(highway), and about 14-15 mpg (city). Sounds to me like maybe your injectors
need to be looked at (replaced). I own a 1996 with a powerstroke 7.3L and it
gets 25mpg on the highway and about 17 mpg in the city.

Nathan.
