Engine cranks but no fire. I suspect fuel pump problem as no "whirring" sound
when ignition turned on. I can't seem to locate the fuel pump fuse however.
Haynes tells me it is located "in the engine compartment." Can anyone be a
little more specific. And what will it look like once I do find it? Is it a
"blade" type fuse similar to the ones found in the fuse block under the dash?
How about the relay, located on the firewall. What is its purpose and could it
be the source of the problem?
I also understand there may be "fusable links" protect certain circuits. Does
this apply here?
Thanks in advance for your input!

I think its the fuel pump relay thats in the engine compartment. The fuse
should be in the block under the dash. Its not marked fuel pump. I think its
marked ecm-p or something like that. Your owners manual will tell you which
one. As far as the relay goes, mine is right on the firewall all the way to the
drivers side. There are two of them on my truck, the outer most is the fuel
pump relay. If you pull the connector and jump the grey to orange wire, that
should fire up the pump. If not then its most likely dead. Have fun.
