Im no mechanic just one of those weekend warrior types, but i had a
similar problem and i turned out to be the valve stem seals they are
easy in most cases to change. i think on the chevy they used a little
teflon cap that slides over the valve stem. i could be wrong check
with a mechanic. if your smoke ony happens now and then i would not
worry about it yet just keep an eye on your oil level.
Valve guides and/or seals.

Pull the valve covers and make sure the drain-back holes at the rear inner
corners of the head are not plugged.
If they are, the oil will pool in the rear of the valve covers and get
sucked sown the intake guides
