Hey Steve - thought you might like to know, this web page attempts to
install Bonzai Buddy, well known spyware.
If anyone allowed this they should download and run Adaware and Spybot
Search & Destroy to clean up their computers.

It popped up a dialogue box after I exited. Its possible it hasn't always
done this. Or maybe it doesn't always do it for (to) everybody. I just know
I had nothing else open except OE and this page at the time, and when I
closed the page it asked me if I wanted to install Bonzai Buddy, which is
actually more considerate than Bonzai Buddy is usually. Most times it just
installs without asking you.
Some of these scumware products will also install anyway even if you say no.
The only way to be sure is to hit ALT-F4 right away when the box appears.
Don't click NO, don't hit the X in the corner, just use ALT-F4. This should
close whatever application currently has the focus, although the odd time it
may reboot your computer. This usually means the install has already
completed behind your back.
It doesn't hurt to run Ad Aware on your PC as well. They each have their
strong and weak points. Sometimes the two programs will detect each other as
spyware but its usually pretty obvious what is happening and they let you
choose what to kill anyway.

HTH.

Could very well be. I got firewall & antivrus, but I haven't done much about
popups.
With a little luck the popup filter may have also prevented you from getting
this and other spyware installed. Maybe I should be adding popup filtering
to my list of cyber paranoias.
