Back in the 70's I was a detector dealer for the National Treasure
Hunters League, Mesquite, TX which was run by Ray Smith.
I used to write articles for the NTHL magazine (mostly about Treasure
Hunting in England) - (BTW if you have any of these magazines and
would be kind enough to send me a copy of any articles I wrote under
the name of Pete Peters or Thomas 'Pete' Peters, I would be most
grateful).

I don't seem to find much on the intenet about what happened to NTHL.
There is a web site but it is accessiblle only to current dealers.

Any one know what happened to Ray Smith? What happened to NTHL?

Thanks

Hi Pete,
I checked out the three copies I have (Vol 1 # 2, 4 # 4 and 5 # 4).
Sorry to say couldn't find any article you wrote. Good luck finding copies.
I used to belong to a TH club and they had a large number of magazines. You
probably thought of this already but just the same; You might want to check
with clubs in your area to see if they have any old copies.

Thanks Bob for checking your copies. I used to get a stack of 50 of
the magazines sent to me when I was in England so I could pass em
around and did keep a few of each for myself but over the years things
disappear. The woman I am with now wants to see these articles (she is
amazed at how talented I am as she says). Feel sometimes like I
crawled out from under a rock and the world changed - hmm maybe I was
abducted by aliens and just got back hahahahaha.

Glad I'm back detecting and making new friends again. Still wonder
about old friends - like Ray Smith.

Thanks again Bob

Happy Hunting and Be Safe,

Pete

Hi Pete,
Here is some information that I dug up for you.

1 - The NTHL has a website under construction. It says "NTHL has been
supplying these materials for 35 years with emphasis in the Western United
States. It was previously located in Dallas, TX, Scottsdale, AZ, Tempe, AZ,
and now in Pasadena, CA". The link to it is
http://www.calgold.net/nthl.htm

2 - This site states "Long John Latham had several magazines, Lost
Treasure, Treasure World and Treasure Hunt, he also published a couple
reference magazines for antique collectors. Over the years there have been
Quest, National Treasure Hunters League, Gold & Treasure Hunter, Gold, Gold
Prospector and some more tabloids, Treasure Reporter, Examino Express and
__________.
Sorry, my mind just went blank, it was published in T&C NM. As of last year
there was also Treasure Facts and Treasure Seekers. " The link to it is
http://www.findmall.com/metal/metald/config.pl?read=2314

3 - This site has the following for sale "NATIONAL TREASURE HUNTERS
LEAGUE =NL> 70JAN-1.3 70JUN-1.4 72JUL-3.2 73MAR-3.3 73SEP-3.4
74???-4.1 77???5.4" The link is http://home.earthlink.net/~billoliver/

I found these using "Copernic". I really like it because it searches a
lot of search engines at one time and eliminates the duplicates. Hope this
helps.

I remember the NTHL. I was in the shop many times. I also wondered what
happened to them.
