I will be in Vancouver: July 28 through August 3.

Can anyone suggest inexpensive hotels/motels/B&B's within walking
distance to Stanley Park...say 1 mile or so?

Thank you for any information you might give me.

Mike

That is a good time to be in Vancouver. It is BC Day on the Monday and a
big fireworks display on English Bay on both Wed., July 30 and Sat. Aug. 2

HI

Try www.vancouver-bc.com they have a database that lists everything from
hotels to B&B's, and they show them by area (downtown, the West End /
Stanley Park, etc.) and price range

I have to second the person who suggested the Sylvia hotel. It's a
quaint old place. Built around 1929 it has a "weathered
patina"...chipped paint, old furnishings, an elevator that sounds like
it's gonna die, but very pleasant staff and a really, really good
restaurant with views across English Bay. It was clean and everything
worked. Our bed was fine, not worn out. My wife and I walked all around
Stanley park and downtown along Robson street from there. The bike trail
and English Bay is out in front of the hotel and stanley park is about 3
or 4 blocks away.
My wife and I stayed there less than a year ago for 4 days and we loved
Vancouver, the Sylvia, and Stanley Park...and the concert we went to.
Originally, I picked the Sylvia because it's one of the lower priced
places in Vancouver.
