Motels in Canada & USA?

I'll be driving from New York City to Toronto & back in December. Would
appreciate recommendations on routes to take, good motels, sights to see,
shopping, etc, along the way. I would also like to buy a notebook computer.
Should I buy it in USA or Canada? Please post responses......

Buy it in Canada as the U.S. $ is much higher. Just make sure that all
warranty is valet in the U.S. Also change your U.S. $ in Canada as you will
get more for it in Canada. If you have Canadian money when you go back to
the U.S. change it in the U.S., as you will get more for it in the U.S.

Thanks for the hint. Will I need snow chains when driving to Toronto in
December? Where do I get them?

No, you will not need them and furthermore, you can't have them. They are
illegal.

Toronto probably will have some snow in December but it is not a sure thing.
Most
snow that does fall during December doesn't last too long although there are
always
exceptions.
