My name is Gwendolyn Ann Smith, and I am a relative newcomer to the
'net.
I am the creator of an online magazine called The Transmission,
available on America Online and The Corner BBS in Seattle. I am
looking for submissions for the current issue, in which I am
exploring the topic of "Where did you get your femme name?"
In may case, it was the name I would have been given had I been born
female - an error or genetics which I plan on correcting...
I would love to hear your tale, either here on E-malied direct to
GAnn...@AOL.com
Thank You!
Gwen
In my case I chose names, both first and middle, that are the equivalent
of my birth names. It makes life a little easier, as my checks and
credit cards have just the initials, so it doesn't matter to me if the
other person perceives me as male or female.
The feminine version suits me. That seems appropriate, no?

Of course it does : )
Thank you for writing, By the way - I appreciate it!
By the way, does anyone have an idea of how to upload the final
newsletter? The first issue, February 1994, prints out at 29
pages... anyone have a suggestion?
Thanx

If it wasn't for the fact that I know you're on a Mac, I'd suggest PKZIP
then UUENCODE.
I don't know *how* you'd do the equivaleng t operations.
(P.S.: Any of your newsletter potentially reprintsble in "C-T"?)

Gwen, you can do this on the Mac. Look in the AOL libraries for
"ZipIt" and "UUParser v1.72." If you can't find them, let me know and
I'll filemail them to you.

Thank you Kymberleigh And Elaine for your suggestion in regard to
this -- I'll look for those files on AOL (already have UnZip)

Kym, certainly it is! Though I will admit, due to the *overwhelming*
response I have gotten from alt.tg and from the AOL crowd, it would
probably take quite a few pages in its full form!
So I'll keep in touch about it, and look into doing that upload!
Hugs,
