Just finished up watching the livestream while my daughter helped me dig a large hole in the backyard. Fun was had by all, including the little green inchworm we found.

The livestream was hosted by Ben Montano and Isabella Weiss (who mostly talked about video games and ducks) and Mark "Markclonus" Maher.

So they officially unveiled the entire Velocitron assortment, much of which has already been leaked. All of them are packaged in vehicle mode, emphasizing that they're all in a race, and as a tribute to the G1 toy packaging. They showed off Blurr, Clampdown, Road Hauler, and Override, who at this point are not news. (People have posted in-hand images of Road Hauler and he's confirmed to have the short pegs.)

Of note is Burnout, a black Diaclone-inspired redeco of Skids, who was described as a female character. She's got the Crosscut style head with mask, and some different deco than the Skids toy. We tend to get the Diaclone Honda City Turbo toy in blue and red and silver, but black is a new one.

Road Rocket is the G2 Laser Cycle character, as expected, and a remold of Prime Arcee. They also identified Road Rocket as female, but he's clearly identified as male in his G2 tech specs from 1995.

Cosmos is an all-new mold! And he's amazing. He's very G1 toon accurate, very much in the vein of the various third party toys. (Who's a big chungus? Who's a big chunky boy?) In the context of the Velocitron story, he's the race announcer and comes with a checkered flag. It also doubles as a white flag for surrender purposes, or the flag can pop off the handle and he can equip the handle as a gun. Maybe we could get an X-Dimension GoBot Pathfinder version some day.

They kept referring to Black Convoy as Scourge. He was planned from the inception as soon as they knew they were doing G2 Laser Prime.

Walmart is doing some kind of collector con next month in July, and there will be three new R.E.D. figures available. These were just barely leaked yesterday, I believe. There will be G1 Thundercracker (obviously a Starscream redeco), and Prime universe Megatron and Optimus Prime. Looks like R.E.D. will be closed-box packaging going forward.

There's also a Shattered Glass toy of Action Master Slicer coming, a redeco of Wheeljack in the European 1992 colors. He comes with a red-and-pink version of the Fasttrack weaponizer mold, to complete the character and serve as his Action Master Exo-Suit. The weaponzier (I don't think they named him in the livestream; Red Roritchi?) can also serve as the red spear for the Hasbro Pulse Black Zarak toy.

Zob (super excited about Cosmos—he looks SO GOOD)

So he's up for pre-order now, with a price of $48.99 and a scheduled release date of January 2023.

Hilariously, the Exo-Suit accessory/weaponizer is just named Exo-Suit.

Cosmos is excellent, as is Nitro Convoy (#tvnihon4life). Scourge is...not great. His color scheme leaves a lot to be desired from the standpoint of show accuracy.

This is what he should look like: https://fans-hobby.myshopify.com/collections/master-builder/products/mb-01-archenemy

The Cosmos looked to have a taller than normal center section and a bigger barrel chest, and there are pictures floating around that his chest has a window with a tiny Blaster in it?
Maybe it's someone having fun with Photoshop?

Also people theorize it's a complete reshellification of Kingdom Warpath

He does look good.

Agreed. Mark Maher posted something on Instagram recently about how he actually had to look up what the final name was for the toy, because in-house they kept bouching back and forth between Scourge and Black Convoy and Nemesis Prime. That speaks in some ways to their lack of clear vision for the end product. I really wish they'd just stuck with the RiD Scourge color scheme.

Zob (it's very unlikely we'll get a do-over for a fifty-dollar toy)

I don't believe that's the same toy. The version with tiny Blaster has different proportions, so it's probably a third-party version of Cosmos.

I guess it's at least possible, given that the G1 versions of Warpath and Cosmos had such similar transformations. But if there is shared engineering between the two toys, I don't see evidence of it yet from the photos.

You're probably right, but if there's one thing Hasbro likes, it's money (and given their recent shareholder proxy battles and the hits to their stock price, they definitely need it).

And if there's one thing we as fans like*, it's parting with our hard-earned cash for ever-slightly-more-accurate incarnations of our favorite characters.

What I'm saying is, give us a properly decoed Generations Selects RID Scourge, you cowards, and throw in a non-transforming Kelly in a permanent squatting position while you're at it. It makes just as much sense as it did for Daniel and Wheelie. Do it.

*something something addictive compulsions and bad choices, but hey, at least it's not hard drugs, right?

In the olden days, we'd just have to wait for Takara to fix it in their
version.
I really hope Reprolabels fixes this blunder.
