So I've been out of the comic loop for a while now and I thought I would
catch up on the stories. I've managed to track down the IDW TPB to date
(This includes the "-tion" issues, all Spotlight, Max. Dinobots and AHM 1-3.
The 4th TPB isn't due out till Jan.) And I'm rather confused by the events
in AHM. Am I missing some issues or are we just suppose to accept the
flashbacks? Particularly: The Autobots or stranded on Cybertron, Optimus got
nearly scrapped and Megs took the Matrix (Did this happen on Earth or
another planet?) , Sunstreaker's all of a sudden a traitor. I know it's
explained in the flashbacks, but it's not that same.

Also why do the Autobots seem to be surprised to see Devastator when they
have Metroplex. Sure having TF merge is "new" to them, but still it's
freakin Metroplex. Also why do the Humans seem to be surprised to see TF. I
mean with all the commotion they caused previously you'd think the military
would have gotten wind of them.

Accept the flashbacks - aside from a few things from AHM Coda (#13-16,
maybe the Vol. 4 trade), we get very little in the way of details
between Furman's run and AHM. And yes, that big battle where Prime
lost the Matrix was on Earth.

I doubt many Autobots knew about Metroplex in the first place - the
Throttlebots certainly didn't. Did every soldier in the Air Force know
about the F-117 when it was in development? Heck, Truman didn't even
know about the atomic bomb until he was sworn in as president. Odds
are Metroplex was one huge secret that very few (Prime and a few in
his immediate command, possibly Perceptor) were aware of.

And I have no good explanation for why the military has little
awareness of the Transformers, beyond Skywatch being run by inept
idiots who refuse to share information. Or McCarthy not thinking
things through, whatever works.

He's not 'suddenly' a traitor. The flashbacks explain it well enough.

The Throttlebots are surprised to see Metroplex, too--which means
Metroplex likely is an unknown factor to most of the Autobots. A
better question is Omega Supreme, who is clearly as tall as Dev and
even kicks his ass.

Because it's better that way!
