And having a separate a.t.t.m. newsgroups would do _nothing_ to stop
posts like that. The poster likely sent it to all the alt.toys.* and
rec.toys.*. I sincerely doubt that folks who spam like that look at the
individual newsgroups.
There may be reasons to split the newsgroup, but that's not one of them.

But the post was already inappropriate since is had nothing to do with
Transformers. The fact that the poster was selling something is irrelevant.
