It's a safe bet that Hasbrocollectors.com will probably have these figs
for sale, but I'm so tempted to import them when they're released. :)
Does any body have an estimate or educated guess as to when these might
be available from Hasbro?
Doesn't hurt to ask before getting too hasty.
Remembe, everytime you say Dalmatian,
the kibble will only add even more character to the toys. :)

Pardon me and no offense meant to you in particular, Zac, but I find your
post highly ironic. Over the first year or so of BW, and to some extent even
now, fans of the preceding TFs couldn't say enough bad about the idea of
"organic" transformations for Transformers, how they wanted them to be
MECHANICAL, darn it! Cheers went up among some of these people at the advent
of the TMets. With their more fully mechanical feel and semi-vehicular
modes, it seemed Hasbro was headed in the direction they wanted most. Now,
with the admittedly dubious-looking TMet2's out here, we get a bunch of those
TFs with fully organic transformations coming out in Japan, and sure enough,
we hear complaints in the OTHER direction! :-)
Now, I realize that this isn't a matter of fans simply turning 180 degrees or
anything. While some have enjoyed the BW figures from the start and honestly
just want the early "'normal' beast to robot" motif to return in strength, I
suspect others are fiercely upset over these toys simply because the toys are
in Japan and not here.
I'll admit I like some of the figures' looks quite a bit. Corahda looks much
better than I thought, as does Stampy, despite the big rabbit ears on his
hands. Dead End's a bit kibbly, Saberback and Guiledart rather more so, but
none worse than, say BW Ironhide. OTOH, Break and Longrack easily beat out
Ironhide in the Obtrusive Beast Bits department. Am I interested in them?
Sure! Do I think they're the be-all and end-all of BW to date? Not quite.
Not all the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

This *also* reminds me of what happened just barely over one year ago, after the
first pictures of the BW2 Lioconvoy, Galvatron, and Starscream/BB had hit the net
but quite some time *before* the news about Mega, Ultra, and Optimal Transmetals
had become anything more than vague and taunting rumor. We (well, some of us)
were pretty darned bitter that only overseas fans would get a huge
triple-changing baddie leader, or a nifty white lion with a gen-you-wine Matrix
of leadership. Then came the day when the first pictures of Rampage and
Scavenger hit the 'net, and most people, including myself, changed their tunes.
Wait and see, friends. There are still about 16 figures to be released on this
side of the ocean which we haven't even seen pictures of. I don't know about the
rest of you, but I only found out about the return of vehicle modes to TM2's
yesterday--and I'm still happy. Just wait and see. Contrary to popular rumor,
Hasbro isn't *completely* brain-dead. They like to make money. The Transmetals
made them a lot of money. Extrapolate.

Oh I definetly agree with this statement. I remember when the reviews
for BB/Staracream, Dirge and Thrust first came out. People who hated
these toys in the original incarnations flat out said they loved them and
that they were better then anything Hasbro currently had out. Gave me a
bit of a chuckle about how people went ga ga over this stuff just cause it
was Japanese. And then God Neptune was released during the summer, to
which a similar responce was echoed. Had to have been one of the
strangest things I ever saw on this newsgroup.

Dead End is just great for the fact that he is an Ammonite
Transformer. SInce he is likely the only one of those we will ever get, I
want him for my interest in these animals. Saberback looks nifty cause
hsi design parameters look retro-ish in an almost Shogun Wariorish kinda
way, and I love the look of his helmet. Coradla, that name keeps on
reminding me of Corona Beer for some reason, looks interetsing at least.
As for the others, none really seem that special. Break looks like a
disapointment. Who ever that poster was who was complaining about how BW
used egg shell technology would love this guy, since it seems you actually
crack him open like an egg. And the Triceratops just looks wrong in that
yellow color. On the brightside most of the dinos are not too shaby
looking, which was one of the things I was worried about considering how
poor Magnatron's componets looked.
Me I'm waiting for the reviews of the repaints of Razorclaw, Lazorbeak,
Iguanus and Razorback to appear. I just know there will be some of that
great "these things are the best tf toys ever" stuff in the reviews :D

Thank you, sir. Couldn't have said it better.
I'd forgotten about all the attitude shift from the time of early BW2 news to the
time when the Mega TMets came out, BTW...talk about history repeating itself...

I know exactly what you mean. On a personal note the
organic BW's never bothered me at all. Mainly, I think, because
they were good toys.
What has struck me since their demise at the hands
of the Fuzors and TM's is something I know other people have
mentioned,. Namely, all the missed oportunities. There was SO
MANY cool animals that Hasbro just ignored to do more
robotic versions and fuzions of things we already had.
This is the main reason I said "WOW!" an the BWNeo
guys. They have a variety of animals ( and especially
dinosaurs ;) that has been sorely laking here. Same reason I'm
very interested in the coming TMII skunk, and Owl.

Well, the grass is always greener... ; )
I do think the people who got all excited about things like the
Autorollers and the repainted seacons may have lost a little
perspective. ; )

Honestly, I know they have some slight problems, but
with the exception of Break's shoulder mounted pretender
shell transformation and one of longracks arms I think they're
at least as good and in some cases ( cough... TM2's... cough )
beter than what weve been geting here. : )
-ZacWilliam, who just found out that you can snap lioconvoys chest
in so it doesn't flop around at all and thinks it makes him a MUCH better
toy. : )
Now seriously, Stampy as BW Springer or Blurr? I'm really torn...
That is rather odd. Maybe it is because Geocities try to insert
its own floating watermark and pop-up ads whenever you visit one
of its sites (unless you can disable them). -_- However, I would
think your web browser should still be able to visit those sites.

I'm anxiously awaiting Cybershark... among other things, I simply love
the fact that non-show characters are getting new bodies. The fact that
Cyber seems to have gimmicks out the wazoo also helps.
M "And Spittor! Whee!" Sipher
I have to wonder *why*. The Seacons are among the worst of all the
G1 gestalts. And a yellow Megaplex is still just a Megaplex -- with
uglier colors. It's not a terrific mold to begin with, certainly not
compared to the Cyberjets that preceded it.

There's a contingent of Transfans that react this way to everything
that comes out. Transmetal Rattrap and Terrorsaur and Waspinator were all
hailed as "completely awesome" when they first hit the shelves. Plenty of
people are proclaiming "Feral Scream" part 1 as the greatest episode in
the series, or at least saying it "totally rules". Me, I try not to buy
into any hype about new stuff till there's been some time for the "wow"
factor to wear off.
