I LOVE these!
I've been dieing for someone to officially repaint the Seeker mold into some of
the unnamed ones from the cartoon. At last Takara has done it. Kick a$$! Now if
we could only get a few of the others too!
And I love Hauler too, mainly for the G1 refeences, his existence and the
tech-spec bio reference to "The Secret of Omega Supreme" one of my all time
favorite toon eps.
-ZacWilliam, Takara/e-hobby hit a homerun with these two IMO. Great concepts.

I'm guessing that this means that this guy was supposed to be a
Constructicon or something. That would explain the green color scheme
although the colors seem too "neon" to really fit with that. Perhaps it's
just the lighting. *shrug*

Neato! About time they did a new Decepticon character. Between Road
Rage, Deep Cover, Clamp Down, Tigertrack, Crystal Rodimus, and Cross
Cut (plus the black Tracks and movie Ultra Magnus) the Decepticons
have really been falling behind in the G1 reinforcements department. I
mean, we've had Megaplex and Black Rodimus, plus black versions of
Starscream and Megatron (aka "Eclipse" and "SIlencer" if you like
fan-made characters) for the 'Cons, but really... where's the parity?
I especially like Hauler's background -- he confirms that there were
other lime-colored construction bots, and that the guys who became the
Constructicons don't account for all of them. Seems pretty certain
that Armada Scavenger must be another one of these guys, eh?
BTW, the katakana for Hauler's weapons reads "Ground Auger Missiles"
and "Vibratory Force Gun."

Well, this would explain the email I got from Ichikawa-san yesterday.
Apparently, he'd just sent off the info and wasn't even sure if the
names would be final, but it looks like they are.
I was planning to hold off posting 'til I knew it was all official and
public about their release. Now that I know it is...
Hmm. Wow, it looks like they snipped the "Abilities" paragraph from
Hauler, plus the tech spec stats and maybe a word each from the main
descriptions for both of them, but otherwise they're pretty much intact
with his originals. And those are as follows:

Abilities...Equipped with a variety of exploratory devices and a crane

Thanks for expanded original tech specs. I was on the fence about
these two I really was, but now I know I'll be getting just because of
this line in Sunstorm's spec:

However, and you can tell Ichikawa-san from me that I would never had

He's not the one who picks which molds get reissued next, you

I'm guessing they tell him, "We'll be re-releasing molds X and Y," and
just let him create from there, approving or vetoing as they see fit.

"What Takara proposed to me at first was, 'We want to market the crane
that shows up in the first episode as a Grapple recolor, but in
Constructicon colors,' so I thought up a bio to meet those requirements.
(By the way, Hauler's name is never mentioned in the Japanese version
of the show, so almost no Japanese fans know what he's called.)
"As for Sunstorm, I modeled him off of an orange robot who has a
blink-and-miss-it cameo (among the robots firing the flamethrower) also
in MtMtE Part 1. His name and abilities are all my own invention,
though. (I'd also considered names like Flareburst and Flarestorm as
candidates, but decided in the end to keep it simple.)"

The rumour is, they only have 1 (or 2) english speaking and understanding
members of staff.
It may not be true, but it certainly seems like it.
I'm currently having billing problems with them, and getting them to respond
is a pain - 1 reply from 4 emails, and even then, they didn't understand me
correctly (wonder if it'll help to get a hand composing a japanese email?)
