Hi all:

Some sad news I found via the TransMasters fan club FB group today:

José Delbo, the long-term artist behind the original TF Marvel comic, has passed away at the age of 90.

Originally born in Argentina, José contributed to issues 36 - 67 of the original Marvel book, and also contributed significantly to DC Comics' Wonder Woman.

Delbo's website here: https://delbocomics.com/#!about.html

Some coverage here: https://www.cbr.com/jos-delbo-wonder-woman-transformers-obituary/

The end of an era.

It's always tragic when we lose somebody so vital to the creation of our favorite giant outer space robots. Delbo's art was arguably THE look and feel for the comic book for a very large chunk of the original Marvel run, and it was, especially near the latter issues, easily as recognizable and distinctive as Geoff Senior's art or Andy Wildman.

But, he lived to a ripe old age, which is more than we can say about a lot of the characters that Delbo illustrated meeting their end during the Underbase saga. May his Spark join the Matrix, with the greatest of Cybertrons!
