I guess this has already been batted around a but, but it seems painfully
obvious to me (and has since early episodes of the screwy BM show), that
in Bob Skir's mind, Cybertron is Earth.
How is this possible? I dunno, exactly. I suspect that the Transwarp
(timetravel) technology may have somethign to do with it... Maybe the
Quintessons are the cyborg descendants of humans, who went back in time
and turned their own homeworld into Cybertron? I dunno, but I'm almost
certain that that's what is gonna be "revealed" eventually.
Why do I think this? Well for one thing, why the hell else would Cybertron
have skeletons of bats and other native-to-Earth lifeforms? Hmmm? Why
else? Well, just call it a hunch. Essentially, Bob has demonstrated a good
deal of interest and fondness for TF, but he's not a brilliant writer. His
stuff is a bit amateurish I think, his suprises generally a bit
predicatable. For instance, it was clear very early on that Tankorr was
Rhinox... Stuff like that.
I just think that Cybertron turning out to be Earth, while a twist indeed,
is somehow not a very surprising one. It's too cicrular, too convenient,
too pat... to darn cute. I wish Bob would stop playing god so much...
I miss the brilliance of Beast Wars. I'll be the first to admit it had its
flaws, but it was a thousand times better than original TF -- BW may have
had a few continuity gaffs with TF, but TF had continuity gaffs with
itself, all the time even!
Not that I hate BM, I dont... I find it interesting, but shaky.
And Cybertron is gonna turn out to be Earth. Bet on it.
Gosh, what a big fat surprise. Gosh how original.
Gosh, how jaded I am...

Perhaps. He has a reupation for mucking things up no matter what the
fans say.
Oh, And Godzilla: The Animated Seriers is back on FOX too. (UGH!)

Well, I thought that maybe *this* Cybertron *is* Earth and the original
that we know and love is still out there somewhere.

I have always assumed that BW and BM is more a continuation of the
comic book. Think about it, in action masters it was established that
vector sigma was slowly turning into loone and a dictator.

How, then, are they clearly two separate planets in the G1 cartoon and
the G1 comics? Has Skir abandoned all pretense of G1 compatibility and
started to redefine the entire Transformers history?

Vector Sigma was never in the comics. They basically mixed the toon
with comic book elements thrown in which sometimes doesn't always
work.

This would also explain Skir's weird theory about "Cybertron wanting to
be organic". HIS Cybertron wants to be organic, OURS doesn't.

Well, just because Vector Sigma wasn't shown in the comics doesn't mean it wasn't
there. Cybertron was a huge place in the comics, with more than one location (plus
the far side of the planet). Same with Plasma Energy Chamber. Vector Sigma could
have easily been built to replace Primus at the centre of Cybertron.
GB
he was in the action masters. which was a TF comic.
I'm sorry, but there's no such comic book. At least not one published
by official sources (=Marvel).

"Transform & roll out!" - Optimus Prime, TF G1 cartoon show
The Action Masters appeared in the comic (towards the end of the G1 run, AM
Grimlock was the first...) - but Vector Sigma did not appear. In fact I have
never before heard of the Vector Sigma Action master toy... care to
elaborate?
Marc.
then why the hell is Vector Sigma on Earth. Come on.
