So... this may be taboo... but I'm searching for the original
movie script. The one everyone hated, where Optimus Prime was
running on his back wheels along a Freeway, or whatever.

which was actually very close to the film we got, but most of the
Decepticon names were different (Barricade was Brawl, I guess trying
to be a pun on Prowl; I think Blackout was Soundwave, Brawl was
Devastator) and the script already had Ironhide in it. (Ironhide
replaced Arcee.) But things like Glen and the hacker chick were
already there (and a lot more useful!), the AllSpark (I think still
called the Energon Cube), Megatron frozen in ice, etc. I think Jazz
even still died. I'll try and dig it up; it was definitely called
"Prime Directive," which was a codename for TF1.
I did some Googling and found the one I'm talking about; I don't know
if it's the same one you mentioned. (For what it's worth, myself and a
friend sat down and read the entire script when it came out, before
the movie, and the actual movie we saw in our heads was fucking
awesome.)

His topic title says the 2007 Bay film.

haven't read it since before I saw it, but all the character beats and
everything are there--and a lot more. Like an explanation for why
Sam's Chihuahua has a cast on his leg.
