I keep thinking that retailers will finally figure out that there's an
economic slump and that nobody is going to spend $100 on Devastator,
but so far it looks like the toy actually *is* selling at that price.
(Well, it's cheaper than a Nintendo Wii or PlayStation 3, one
supposes.) I do keep watching prices, hoping that the toy goes on
sale somewhere. Maybe it's still too soon? The big sales don't start
until after Thanksgiving, after all.

So far, I've seen him at Target for $89.99, a paltry ten dollars off.
Toys "R" Us was advertising him in their Big Toy Book as going for a
"hot price," but the price itself isn't listed in the book. (When I
had them check a couple of weeks ago, he was ringing up at $99.99. I
suspect they deliberately omitted the price in the booklet so they
could do a temporary price drop at some point in the future without
having to reprint the book.)

I just checked online and dealnews.com has him for $70 with free
shipping. That may be as good as we're ever likely to get.

Do you reckon there might be a price dip after Christmas?

Picked him up for 79.99 at Costco. He is a POS as he can barely stand
up straight.

Crap. Just paid the $90 at Target. It's gonna be my son's big b'day present.
(He's 5 and loves transformers - including RID, Animated, G1 'toon & both
movies.) If he doesn't stand up, I'm gonna be doing a lot of transforming
for the boy...

He's not supposed to stand up straight, despite Hasbro's photography.
He's meant to be on all fours.

Yeah,I noticed hasbro's photography of TF toys on boxes this year is
pretty lousy. I was thinking perhaps the ROTF toys were too
complicated to transform & the result was rushed box TF toy pics.

I should mention that Walmart has Devastator on rollback for $80 right
now. (See, I told you it would happen eventually.)

I will be waiting to post-Christmas... Perhaps he will get under $50,
maybe even $40.

Gustavo!
