Firstly, to all the members of the Transformers E-Mailing List,
this is our new home! Of course, there's no reason to terminate
the List, but it looks like this newsgroup is going to be our
future format.
I'd like to thank everyone who had a part in creating this newsgroup,
it has a lot more participation than I expected. :)
Also, howdy to everyone who wasn't a member of the emailing List!
It's great to see that there are so many other Transformers fans.
About merging Transformers: I don't think anyone mentioned the
Seacons (aka Piranacon) and the Decepticon Pretender Monsters (aka
Monstructor). Piranacon was also a Targetmaster of sorts. Both
Piranacon and Monstructor stunk as far as the toys went.
IMHO, the Generation 2 toys are all pretty bad. They shouldn't have
messed with the classic toys, either. Maybe the G2 Megatron will be
decent. Has anyone seen that around yet?
BTW, if anyone has any information on where I might get a copy of
the 1991 Transformers UK Annual, PLEASE TELL ME!! I've looked
everywhere for this stupid issue. Thanks.
Later all. Roll out! :)

P.S. Does everyone know about the Transformers FTP site? It's at
vela.acs.oakland.edu. It's mainly made of scanned gif images. Cool.
Told you, Steve. B-)

I haven't really contributed to the combining-Transformers thread, simply
because I wasn't a big fan of them, but I can dig through my old catalogues
and whip up a list:
Devastator/Constructicons
Superion/Aerialbots
Defensor/Protectobots
Menasor/Stunticons
Predaking/Predacons
Bruticus/Combaticons
Computron/Technobots
Piranicon/Seacons
And, of course, released in Japan only, there was a combination set with
six trains that formed into one. Since I can't read Japanese, I can't give a
name here...
As long as we're on the subject of "theme" Transformers, what about the
"Mobile headquarter" ones? Metroplex, Fortress Maximum, Scorponok, Trypticon,
Omega Supreme (of sorts).

Is it possible that the "Generation 2" Megatron is exclusively a comic book
creation?

I think a good number of people reading this would love to get a copy of
that...
