I found the video repaints in TRU Woking this morning.

Thing is they're not Airazor and Razorclaw - like the US got. We've got
Clawjaw and Spittor. Clawjaw is green with blue tentacles, Spittor is red.
Both are on TM Cards with their original illustrations, but Spittor is this
time labelled as a Predacon.

The videos are just a cassette with a plastic inlay over the top.
Clawjaw's tape is labelled BW Episode 27 and the tape does indeed contain
Aftermath. Spittor's is BW Episode 28 so I'm assuming it's Coming of the
Fuzors 1.

12.99 each

Don't sweat it, ototokun. I was gonna have one of my buddies in the UK pick up
a set for me... so I'll just ask him for two now. I dunno if he'll send by
ground or air, but I'll make sure yours are sent with all my stuff, and then
just forward it to you. We Darkwings' have to look out for one-another, right?

Are these new general releases that are going to be all over the UK soon?

I hope so and I really need some cash.

Thats odd that the repaints are released under the name transmetal
,considering they don't have TM chrome...or do they ? The only thing I could
see is it looks more mechanical with the color and the writing.

It also ticks me off that you get a neat looking grey Squid while in America
we got the lousy pink,orange and purple.

I think - not having piccies in front of me right now - that there were some
TM markings on the US video exclusives

Who's still shelf warming nicely in the UK :-)

Seriously though the US is still in credit by a few toys:

Tigertron
Blackarachnia
Buzzsaw
Grimlock
Wolfang
Repaint Airazor
Repaint Razorclaw

all never made it to the UK.
Several Fuzors are still MIA, and the Colony is yet to arrive ...

I got mine today - LOVELY. Claw Jaw is a really cool dark blue and metalic
green. A bit expensive though. I paid £26 for both of mine!!!

I opened mine up. Robot mode scans at

http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~payres/robot_r.jpg

Personally I think that CJ looks more Female in the Green than either of the
other 2 paint variants (Clawjaw/Scuba and Ikado)

Any ideas for names for the repaints ?

Hmm, anyone notice that, like for TM2 packages, the beast mode is
written underneath the name for Claw Jaw? (It wasn't done for
Spittor, BTW.) Still, Claw Jaw is a squid, not an octopus.

You're right about the Clawjaw looking female.
And lord knows we can always use more. :-) Still,
I'm really tempted to suggest the name Seaspray. What
was the name of Spray's mermaid-girlfriend in that G1 ep.
Anyone? That could work. Merriana anyone?
Deep Blue? The G1 pretender Waverider would make a
good choice too. I can't decide. Other suggestions...

As for Spittor... Salamander maybe? (I know he's a frog,
but in mythology salamanders lived inside fires, and this
guys Very red.) a new form for Rumble?

-ZacWilliam, thinking both these guys are VERY
striking and cool looking, and would love to get his hands on them...

That makes what... ClawJaw Spittor
Skuba Diver
Ikaryd UK
Maximal Spittor
UK Clawjaw UK Red
Spittor

TM2 Spittor
not too shabby. :-)

The Them stared.
Then Pepper said, "No, it isn't. The Metatron's made
of plastic and it's got a laser cannon and it can turn
into a helicopter."
"That's the Cosmic Megatron," said Wensleydale
weakly. "I had one, but the head fell off. I think this
one is different."

That's not the beast mode actually, although it might look that way.
These cards are tri-lingual, and "Octopus" is what Claw Jaw is called
in either Spain or Italy (or both).

Actually Wolfang was first and K-9 came later ,it should also be
noted that K-9 has the same look and transformation but was seriously
remolded...He's also bigger than Wolfang.

That'd be Claw Jaws European name.
They're all like that over here.

E.g: Under "Waspinator" it says "Punginator" and under "Injector" it
says "Terror Torpedo"

The thing I found most amazing about these toys is the catalogue that
came with them...

Hasbro have *finally* updated it! I thought Armageddon would come and
the world would end before Hasbro UK actually updated the catalogue!;)

So is Bantor out here yet?
He's pictured in the catalogue.

Several TRU's appear to have them now.

True Story: I'm coming out of the Woking TRU for the 3rd time in 24 hours
with yet more of the recolours - for some reason I appear to have had some
mail on the subject from people interested and I do trade regularly with a
couple of people anyway. The TRU manager comes up to me and says "Excuse
me, my staff say you've been in a few times recently why do you need so many
of these?" My answer of "I'm sending them to the US where people are going
to send me nice new toys" seemed to go down OK but that's not what I
expect - certainly the people that went in there and bought all the Death
Star Troopers on the day the SW offer opened last year got away with it.
There's no limits on these items, they've had a fair few in, and the toys
haven't been shifting that quickly. I've never been mistaken for scalping
scum before even when I was army building Stormtroopers. I've been
shopping in that TRU for 10 years , certainly longer than any of the staff
have been there....

Anyway I shan't be going back there again in a hurry - mainly cos I've got
no more money left to spend !

So, is it Injector? Aquasting? or Terror Torpedo? I prefer the last
one m'self. perhaps we could get Hasbro to re-release him in the states
under that name?

You guys are welcome to every Injector in this country:)

Here's a few more examples of Euro names...

Cheetor = Ghepard

Rattrap = Rattilus

Optimus Primal = Black Jack (????)

Silverbolt = Grifo

And from my Mexican packaging...

Silverbolt = Vif-Argent / Rayo De Plata

Air Hammer = Le Marteau / Martillo Aereo

Sky shadow = L'Ombre / Sombra Aerea

Quick Strike = Cinglant / Sorpresivo

Here's some more from Euro packaging:

Transquito = Zanzara

Inferno = Formicula

Cybershark = Squalo Tigre

Noctorro = Toro Alato

and all the Transmetals just have metal stuck in front of their names:

TM Cheetor = Metal Ghepard

TM Megatron = Metal T-Rex

TM Optimus Primal = Metal Monkey :-)

(actually it's metal gorilla, but metal monkey sounds better)

Yeah you're fed up of the sight of me I know but....

One of my friends from university has rung me to let me know he found the
Video exclusives in an independent toy shop(1) in Truro, Cornwall for
16.99UK Pounds (2)

1 Not a TRU exclusive
2 Ouch ! I thought 12.99 (aprox US$21) was bad but this (aprox US$27 is
taking the ****)

For US fans this is what the UK pay for their Beast Wars

Basic 5 pounds ($8)
Delux 10 Pounds ($16)
Mega 15 Pounds ($24)
Ultra 20 Pounds ($32)
OpOp 30 Pounds ($48)

(all assuming 1.6 US $ = 1 UK Pounds)

I found him in the Solihull TRU in November '98, along with Buzzclaw,
Noctorro and Terragator in Chinese packaging.

TRU had great fun trying to scan the barcodes!

I haven't seen him since.

Bantor is pictured in the new catalogue, but where's Buzzclaw?
