It is the year 1998. This happens.

EVEN FLOW

*SCRITCH* *SCRITCH* *SCRITCH*

… Aw crud… not again. The little maggots are awake…

I check my tempograph… 6:46 AM… New Delhi time… Cripes, they get an
early start in this sector of this wretched mudball.

I can feel them scraping off the ferric oxide that lines what was once
my weapons array. The local merchants have been salvaging my innards
for years now. They may not have sophisticated tools, but they’ve got
tenacity-- I’ll give ‘em that…

The monotony’s starting to get to me… If only I had awoken before they
stole my transformation cog, I’d have incinerated the entire
population of this third-rate colony back in ’87…

As it is, I’ve been left helpless, feeling them take every part of me…
bit by bit.

If I still had arms, I could pulverize any bandits that got within
fifty feet. If I still had my vocalizer, I could probably convince
them I was some kinda ancient sea god and get them to build me a new
body. If I still had my neutron core, I could self-terminate and take
out a few million fleshlings in the process…

What… what’s this?...

Holy crud! One of ‘em tripped the signal beacon on my comm unit!

“… *VORP*… Beacon received, Sea Commander Tidal Wave… Thundercracker
and Mixmaster are now en route to enact retrieval and repairs…”

Boo-Yah! I wish I could reply and remind Mixmaster to bring enough
carbonic acid to get all this ferric oxide off my hull…

I wanna look my best when I turn New Delhi into a slaggin’ crater.

#IaclonusWarp: <SKWARP> Hey mens! Wanna know what the frag is going
on? Well, I'm not telling you. But keep yer lookin' balls peeled,
'cause "Purple Dawn", a multi-chunk word salad of considerable
proportions, is almost certainly plinking your way in the summer of
2012! Until that day, stay classy and believe the MAGIC!!! <SKWARP>

This intrigues me, though obviously it's just a very small taste of
what's apparently to come later. Superficially, it reminds me a
little of the story I wrote a while back about Twilight, the female
Decepticon jet (I called it "Shadows of the Night" and hopefully
everyone's read it by now, but I won't spoil the ending in case anyone
hasn't), but of course the similarity is chiefly due to Skywarp being
an incapacitated Decepticon in a similar situation.

How close is this story to being completed and/or posted?

Incidentally, I didn't deliberately change the subject line. I think
Google just has trouble processing stuff in [brackets] so it omitted
them from my response.

Hmmm... I'm thinkin' the actual *chapters* will start droppin' in May
or so... might spit a few more trailers and other ancillary tidbits
'tween now and then...

Thanks for the very apt comparison... I'll hunt down "Shadows of the
Night" on ZFMTS (can't *believe* I missed a Skwarpiefic... Tout
suite...)

Well, my story isn't a Skywarp story, but it is about a Decepticon jet
who's been immobilized and is subjected to humans poking and prodding
her deactivated body.

So, anyway.

No Prob, Zob! I was a little put-off by the weirdness of how Google
Groups seems to cut off the [FANFIC] tag (then relieved to find than
viewing the net through the Ol' Firefox Thunderbird peripheral allows
the secret tech spec to once again become visible).

I don't really get it-- are square-bracketed things, like, HTML/FTP
commands in the eyes of the Google Groupz...?

Oh! I see... *Twilight* is the subject... I was *wonderin'* why you
mentioned Skywarp. Technically, he's not really in "Even Flow". He
just skwarps into the theatre after the screen goes black to spook
folks into seein' the film... takin' a *slightly* more confrontational
approach than Mr. Bay once did...

one was a little more explicit WRT that)
