According to Chris McFeely on the Allspark:

"The original script of the movie specifies the emotions the faces are
supposed to express as "smiling," "angry," "grimacing" and
"suspiscious," as well as the infamous "death's head." A model sheet
from the original cartoon (see HERE) uses these terms, and an article
in the Japanese magazine, Comic Bon Bon, translated them to give
actual names to the faces, which are:

Face of Death (we all know this one)
Face of Laughter (orange 'starfish' crown, moustache)
Face of Rage (angry, goatee'd horned face)
Face of Bitterness (fat face with turban)
Face of Doubt (green, spiked helmet)"

***

This doesn't jive with what Simon Furman put in his Ultimate Guide.

So Simon Furman possibly didn't know about the Comic Bon Bon bit, and/or has
his own ideas... so what?

Furmans also doesnt match up with Flory Dery either, the guy who designed
the Quints. However the general idea is there anyway.

Just pointing out that we once again have divergence in official
continuity. Unless the Japanese source doesn't count as canon. I
think the contrast is interesting.

Furman's version, BTW, is in the review of TF ULTIMATE GUIDE earlier
on the newsgroup.

And which interpretation does everyone prefer? Furman's sound more
dramatic, but this one gives the Quints a "laughing" face
interpretation....more range of expression.
