One complaint I've heard about this story is the role of Scarlett and
Lady Jaye. In the original drawings Scarlett was portrayed as a
nurse. In the miniseries, these two women go to combat with the men.
The complaint is that this is not historically accurate.

As a military historian, I can say that women in Russia did enter
combat, including air combat, in all female units. Also, if you're
going to play historical accuracy, you have to kick out Roadblock and
Stalker too because African-Americans had to fight in segregated
units, and were only allowed in certain professions. Hey, if Cobra
Commander has just replaced Hitler it's too late to play the
historical accuracy card.

On to the issues.

#3: Trial by Fire

Strike team two is Flint, Lady Jaye, Beach Head, Breaker, Grunt and
Lifeline. They see the Seekers coming in.

Stalker meets up with Duke nad Scarlett; the Aerialbots fight the
Seekers.

Cobra Commander has the mMatrix, depicted as a ball of light; crushing
it can cripple the Decepticons and stops Megatron from making him into
mush. (Megatron apparently respects the Baroness, who's willing to
shoot out his optics, but seems to be contemptful of Cobra Commander
despite the fact that CC holds the Matrix).

Snake Eyes drops a grenade on Ravage (poor kitty!)

Zartan replaces Breaker (who seems fated to die in multiple JOE-verses
;)

And Rumble is slinking around in a Cobra coat and helmet, obscuring
his features save his piledriver arms. I can honestly say I've never
seen a more sinister Rumble anywhere. This isn't the bigmouthed
kidbot some think of; this Rumble is a truly frightening opponent.

#4: Wolves

Flint notices that Breaker's radio isn't the usual one...and finds
that Breaker is really Zartan. Unfortunately his radio is Soundwave,
who takes Flint captive.

Strike team One faces Rumble. Scarlett, on Bumblebee (who is a
motorcycle/sidecar), jumps off the crumbling rocks and drops a grenade
on Rumble. Great line: "Let me drive...don't tell me you've never
been driven before. That's so sweet." (Carly has /nothing/ on this
lady...)

But Grimlock is in trouble, struggling to keep his balance on the
crumbling slope. The Autobots do not know where to find a rope/chain
strong enough. Grimlock tells Roadblock, on his hsoulder, to
leave...but Roadblock's not going. "We don't try around here soldier
and we don't quit! You are a lean mean climbing machine and you are
going nowhere but UP! Sound off...I want to hear you say it, Me
Grimlock Going UP!" (Roadblock rules)

It works for a bit then the rocks give way....but by then the
Aerialbots have merged and Superion catches Grimlock.

Starscream and Destro are cooking up treachery....Bruticus. A monster
with no mind of its own...

Frenzy and Beach Head face off at the Cobra airfield, and an airborne
Lady Jaye is jumped by Wild Weasel.

And apparently StormShadow gets fed to a shark....Geez. IMHO, this
series suffers from Marvel Joe syndrome....TOO MANY NINJAS!!! (I like
Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, but waaaay too much of these books are
devoted to their duel, which has nothing to do with TFs at all.)
