PART VI: FANDOM

THRUST: Alright! Time for the fan-based Trannie awards!
DIRGE: Yep, it's my favorite part of the show, too. After all,
there wouldn't BE any Trannies if there wasn't an
enthusiastic group of fans to play along.
RAMJET: Aw, that's... that's so touching... sniff... I LOVE YOU
GUYS! *Sob*
THRUST: Ewwwwww.
DIRGE: Oh, knock it off, Ramjet. You don't love anyone!
RAMJET: Except toast!
DIRGE: Okay, yes, toast... sheesh...

11 Benson Yee
11 Dave Edwards/Zobovor

Ben Yee, Wonko, for bringing us pictures of Toyfair and other things, like
Megabolt.
--Junkman
Zobovor - Sure, he wins every year, but he deserves it. Not only does he
produce a near-superhuman level of contributions to the fandom with the
website, fanfics, FAQs and serving as the veritable backbone of ATT, but
he also manages to work through the occasional problems that he becomes
involved with as said backbone with an amazing amount of integrity.
--Iacon

Nightwind. She's so easy-going and eager to help people out (including
me); she's a great person and rightly deserves to be the Den Mother of the
TF Set.
--Themis56

3H should count as one. Failing that, Tengu. But wait, he canned Badass
Robot of the Month before he got to Thrust as he said he would. Fine. 3H.
--M Sipher

Trent Troop. Not only did he "inspire" the whole
write-in-to-Toyfare-for-TF-exclusives thing, he didn't even become human
and pissed off when BigBot stole the idea.
--Aaron F. Bourque

Call this a cop-out, but I've interacted with so many fans that deserve
kudos, some of whom I don't even remember by name but enjoyed talking with
at BotCon and who put their own hard work into making this fandom better.
Let's hear it for them.
--Sharon "Tut" LaBorde

Griffin - for being so hard-working, and so generous with his own time,
money and effort in making sure the Australian Transfan community has
opportunities and information that we might otherwise miss out on, given
our relative geographical dislocation.
--SofaMan

Rob Powers. For consistently having great commentary, staying out of
flames, and providing hours of entertainment. WINGS DOWN!
--Recharge

THRUST: ALRIGHT! A tie!
DIRGE: Yep. One vote really DOES make a difference, folks.
RAMJET: Unless you're Katherine Harris.
THRUST: Who?
DIRGE: And, once again, both Wonko and Zobovor will get free stuff
from http://www.digiserve.com/eescape/shirts/ as "thanks!"
for their contributions to Transformers fandom.
THRUST: Thank you, Mister Product Placement.
DIRGE: Hey, I didn't write this slag.
RAMJET: That's a pretty big gap between first place and all the
runner-ups.
DIRGE: I guess that shows how much everyone agreed that these guys
deserve to be Transfans of the Year.
THRUST: Either that, or they're equally good with the bribes.

Robowang. Still putting out his man-tastic brand of screwballiness.
--Skyflight

Z. It's always gotta be Z. If you don't know/remember who Z is, I pity you
--Pluto

Robbenbobbi, ATT's very own living yin-yang symbol. Like the Inhumanoid
Magnakor, their magnetic flame-field imprisons TM Airazor in a state of
Schroedingeresquely simultaneous upness and downness.
--Jackpot

Walky. He's wacky.

Starscreamg1 of the DW msg board. Man, I have to admire you sticking to

Stewart Denyer. He's really a housewife in rollers. ;)
--saysadie

Just *one*??? Oh all right. Dart/Technowiccan, she of doggie fame,
champion of Bluestreak . . . mostly because it'll embarrass the socks off
her. ;) And because she is a wonderfully cheerful companion, especially
when she's way too tired. ;)

also get some free gear as well.

THRUST: Hell no!

Joel of BigBadToyStore. Great guy to deal with, good prices and no rip
offs. Hard to ask for more.
--Skyflight

This eBay guy that I don't know the name of (he dealt with Stan, not me).
He sent two Minerva PVC kits by mistake, and when emailed about it, he
kindly let us keep us keep the extra. So he deserves to be publicly
thanked even if I don't know his name....
--Lia Brown

3H. They gave me a comic.
--David "Bluestreak7" Schulz

Thylacine2000. He surprised me by sending me a BC Tigatron for some
assorted thylacine related material :)
--Finback

Not sure if it qualifies, but I got a BWNeo Longrack (loose, all parts
present) for S$10 (about US$4.50?) in a flea market in Singapore. Does
that count? Well, it looked like the vendor had no idea what she was
selling anyway...
--Red Dragon AuraThunder Ranger Aaron Hong

Hooper_X. I wanted Battle Unicorn so badly, but only a specific type of
person can see unicorns. Thankfully, Hooper_X found a whole bunch of
them.
--Charles "Griml0ck" Calhoun

[And from the "Why do we encourage this joke?" pile...]
Starscream, oh wait a minute, he would be the Traitor of The Year
--Tigerpaw28
Scourge (Robots in Disguise). The guy just smoothly goes along with
Megatron's plans without a word... then all of a sudden he's just waiting
for a chance to stab 'im in the back. That's pretty slick. Oh, wait...
you said *TRADER* of the year. Nevermind.
--Robert Powers

THRUST: Whoa! That's a fraggin' LANDSLIDE!
RAMJET: Everybody else got MASSACRED on this one!
DIRGE: Guess that'll give them some motivation for next year.
RAMJET: Yeah, but Big Bad Toy Store would have to take a year-long
hiatus just to give them a chance to catch up...

Nightwind's Padded Cell. A great place to hang out, shoot the breeze, or

I am just waiting

he loves us and wants us to be happy."
--Jen One

Viewfind from TF Archive Message board -- his sig has a picture of the

--Alpha Trion

Stelartron. She has a pic from Seibertron.com, where it looks like Megs
and Optimus Prime are hugging, with a quote from Jigglypuff:Opimus Prime:
"You see? Hugs aren't so bad." Megatron: "You're right! When I get back to
Decepticon headquarters, I'm going to call a big group hug!" Optimus
Prime: "At Autobot head quarters, we have monthly group hugs." Megatron:
"Sounds like a good idea!" AND she gives credit to both Seibertron and
Jigglypuff :)
--Kevona

Desperado (Despe...@aol.com), whose .sig reads, in part, "If we aren't
meant to eat animals, then why are they made of meat?" Cracks me up.
--Zobovor

"They took my underpants! Soon they'll want my blood! BLOOD! AGH!" --Lex
--MCat

Suspsy/Daniel Suh- I don't know how he does it, but he always manages to
come up with a tech spec quote that's exactly appropraite for the
occasion.
--Iacon

THRUST: Haikus in his .sig? That'd really suck!
DIRGE: What's wrong with haikus?
THRUST: They don't rhyme.
RAMJET: They're not SUPPOSED to rhyme.
THRUST: And that's what's wrong with them!

The RiD stuff. Either the colossal amount of activity after the first ep

--Chris McFeely

Transformers Mythos/Canon Debate- I usually vote for something that I at
least participated in, but I gotta admit this was the best example I've
seen of a topic being carefully and calmly dissected until a fairly mutual
concensus was reached.
--Iacon

"Decepticons are NOT a species". Got to put some long-standing
misconceptions to rest there...
--Thylacine 2000

"More Solid Proof..." Sure, people might get tired of talking about toys
and especially overstock of G1/Diaclone toys. I myself get tired of
discussing cartoons and comics. Next time the overstock theory comes
around, I'll prove anyone wrong once and for all. You have my word...

The Sept. 11 discussion at the 2005 Boards was great. For one day,
everyone put their differences aside and coexisted. Off course everything
was back to normal the next day. Oh well.

"Girls and the Transformers Who Love Them." A series of horribly
unattractive nudie pics sparks a lengthy and laughably stupid debate over
what separates pornography from prostitution. It's discussions like these
which cause me to seriously question why I even bother switching on my
computer.
--Daniel "Suspsy" Suh

Those articles where people say Beast Machines was really good. Ok, I'm
J/K. I think one that stands out is the discussion on "Sideburn may be a
transsexual"
--Allan [Weapon X] Liangco

Probably something from Seibertron :D
--Computron

The discussion on Planet Sabretron (that ran for about three weeks) about
the relative merits of Armorhide being a blue tank.
--SofaMan

I think that would be on TUniverse MUSH, where myself (Streetwise) and Hot
spot and the other Protecties were trying to figure out WHY Hot spot kept
on changing shades of blue in the show. We finally decided he's got
heat-sensitive paint. The Hotter it is, the lighter shade he is.

--Doug Kern

The Cybertron Chronicle - It's a hard one, but Rik Bakke did a real good
job with this site. I can't wait for it to come back. Great interviews,
sound clips, etc. The whole deal was there.
--Brandon Williams

Zobovor's Multifacted Transformers Page. C'mon, what doesn't it have?
--Daria 'Ratbat' Sigma

My Kool Toyz. This website is proof that good content and an attractive
layout can go together. Keep up the good work. This is what a good website
should look like.
--Devvi

Internet get together and have a baby.
--GR Crosscut

THRUST: And Ben stomps 'em again!
DIRGE: I'm just amazed how he finds the time to keep the site
running, all by himself.
RAMJET: Hey, what's so hard? There's 24 hours in a day, right?

Lost Years Mush truly took TF Mushing in a new direction. Where
possibilities (and minds) were closed before, TLY broke new ground, forged
an atmosphere of respect and equality, and inspired a whole new generation
of TF Mushes, with a whole new enlightened outlook. I'm proud to say that
TFDD can trace its philosophical ancestry to this progenitor, and pleased
to have seen so many Mushers carry TLY's ideals forward into universes and
themes of their own.

Megatron @ Decepticon Domain. With all the crap he has to sometimes deal

life into the walking cannon of doom.
--Divefire

I would have to say Beachcomber at 2k5. Hippies rule baby!
--Outtie

Sadly, my freeform depictions of the Vehicons as employees of Microsoft
and Wizards of the Coast don't count here. A pity, because the "Little
Drone Buddy is a Munchkin RPGer" skits were priceleless. So Instead I'll
vote for anyone who plays Flamefeather, simply because nobody would ever
damit to playing Flamefeather. So there.
--Rick R. Mortis

Starscream on Decepticon Dominion before the player left.
--Magic

Tom Parrott's Motormaster, Decepticon Dominion. I have seen some truly bad
and some pretty-okay Motormasters, but never one that was as absolutely
dead-on as this one. From the initial application to every moment of RP,
he brings out all the qualities that I have always loved about this
character.
--Raksha

Pass-a-diddly, neighbourino.

Jazz/Nyt as Leozak. He wasn't Leozak for very long before I took over
from him, but while he was in control, he played Leozak like I've only
ever seen one other person play him. Apart from myself, I would trust the
Destron Breastforce Commander into very few hands except his. What's more,
because he no longer plays, Jazz never gets any credit for his helping out
so this year I thought I'd plug his hard work!
--George Morgan

Odium at 2k5. Don't ask me how he got the char approved, but he did! And
the char is awesome!
--Outtie

RAMJET: Not a lot of fans play the MUSHes, do they?
THRUST: I don't see why not -- spending hours alone in a room,

THRUST: Whoa! Con-Quest got some competition this year!
DIRGE: Yeah, that's a first. Nice to see OzFormers finally get
first place for this one.
RAMJET: So you think Raksha and Griffin will share the Trannie
nicely?
DIRGE: It beats challenging each other to a deathmatch for it.
THRUST: OH! "This Sunday, ONE NIGHT ONLY! A duel TO THE DEATH!"
RAMJET: Uh...
DIRGE: "Who's gonna take the Trannie? Will it be 'Reaper' Raksha,

Thanks Aaron. You and the other guy that voted for me have spared yourselves
the horrible fiery death that... um... Well, I don't have it PLANNED, per
se, but when it comes... No death for you.

In the way these things are grouped, I'm glad to have gotten this many
votes. I guess this is where my animation work lands? Well... I have no idea
how much of the fandom is aware of it, but I'm glad eight people are.

Primus Willing, there will be some more this year.

Siph is wirey, he might be a problem. I think I'd hang back, let them duke
it out, and finish off Siph after he beats Walky, while he's still
disoriented and tired.

Siph can't defeat me. I possess that which he most fears.

Adam Sandler.

OK, we can't vote for ourselves, and even then, my lack of self-esteem
would never have allowed me to vote for myself in this catagory. I'm nowhere
*near* in the class of at least *most* of the other nominees. So who owes me
money? :)

That's better. I'd still like to have seen more of a nod to Phil Zeman
and the rest of the ASM crew, though. Plus Phil gets bonus points next
year for including a haiku in every answer. But hey, I didn't get
'round to voting, so feel free to ignore my grousing.

Uh...and that's a GOOD thing? I mean, yes, law of averages and all

Heh...much as I'd love to take this much credit for it, it's hardly my

Well, one, that's assuming finishing off Walky will either disorient or tire
me.

Well, I don't know who voted for me, but a big "Thank You" for the voter(s).

Also got a vote for fanfic writer of the year.

And two votes against in the Free for All, of which one included bodily
harm...guess Tigermeggy is right sometimes.
