my CUSTOM project update

HERES THE ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
I think it's mostly the zangers here who have heard about my team that i've
been working on since early november but I just wanted to talk a bit about how
happy i am with the way it's coming together.
For those who dont know my unit is sort've a fiction RAH/AT team creation of my
own called "Omega Squad" as of now the team is proabbly going to be seven
members strong with three vehicles.
The first vehicle is totally done and ready to be filled with guys. I used a
Lanard ATK hummer rip off thing and painted it yellow. I'm using this as the
command vehicle to carry the top two men in the team.
This was my first pain/custom job and i think it came out okay. I'd give the
finished vehicle about a 6 out of 10 on the customizer coolness scale.
One thing i did that really brought the vehicle to life was paint the seats
black and then do the frames in aluminum painting. Made them look really good.
As for the body, i painted it yellow and from a distance it looks really good
but when you get up close and give it a really good eyballing you can see spots
where paint is thicker and thinner in different places. All in all it looks
pretty good. That's why i said about a 6 or 7 on a scale of 10.
MY second vehicle is the lanard 4wheeler offroad thingie... It looks really
good. I'm using this as the scout recon vehicle for the teamm
I broke the vehicle down into six peices and did each peice individually and
let each coat of primer or paint dry for ATLEAST 24 hours between coats.Once
reassembled this baby kicks massive butt. I also ued another brand of paint on
this one. Instead of testors Yellow spray i used someone else who put out a
DAYTONA YELLOW. Looks alot better.
My third vehicle hasn't started yet.... it's still in the mail to me actually
but it's gonna be a SOTW jeep. THis is gonna me the troop mover.
Gonna paint it the same way as the 4wheeler....
proably with the same brand paint because i'm soo happy with it.
As for the team I'm still working out specialties and jobs for each member but
I've decided to use the 21st SAS SCUD HUNTER shirt and pants as the uniform
base and then build gear ontop of that.
I've got my "leader" done already. He's a SSAM body with a cotswold GUS head on
it wearing a black baseball cap and a leo vest carrying a thompson. I also gave
gus short sleeves and leos watch. I think he looks pretty kick ass. Some of you
are probably thinking why is a guy using a thompson on a modern team? Well hey,
it's my team and i can do whatever i want<G> besides, i think thompsons kick
ass!(and leos vest looks like it'd hold thompson clips well!) It sorta gives
gus that mean old crusty warrior look methinks.
Other than that i took a BBT delta figure and just switched the uniform parts
out and reused his gear. Looks pretty good. Although i'm still deciding what
weapon to use with him. His vest pouches dictate some sorta clip weapon like an
M4 or a CAR 15 or something, but just for display i put a 21st stoner around
his trigger finger hand and it's such a perfect fit I may leave it(and the
appearance looks good too with his camo face and all, he just looks like a bad
mother!) Maybe i'll put an m4 around his back as a backup weapon.
Other than that the only other team member and weapons i know i'm using for
sure at this point is i'm gonan take a DUKE HOF head on a SSAM body and give
him the ak47 chest rig from the nva set. Maybe he'll use leos doo rag too. That
might look nice.
Also, Alan "winch" Dawson has worked up a really cool custom patch for my team
that'll really bring them to life when they show up. I'm also gonna order some
of the mini american flag patches from cots for the other sleeve.
anyway, just wanted to brag/talk about how much fun i'm having customizing and
playing around lately.

What's wrong with you boy?!?! Don't you know if you take that stuff out of
the box you ruin it's value? Now it won't be worth anything on E-bay.....Now
you are stuck with all that stuff ; )
Sounds like a blast......of course now we expect to see pictures. I have
decided that as soon as the weather warms up enough I am going to paint my
Lanard Humvee in a black and white zebra pattern. I haven't decided whether
I want to design a team logo or just use the classic Adventure Team logo.

Yes I know. as soon as i get the team into a really good presentable shape i'll
put up some pics. Trying to decide if it'll be cheaper to buy a cheasy digicam
or have all the regular film developed to disc. Since i'm planing on
customizing quite a bit a cheasy digicam would proabbly be best.

sweet. The canvas top and such really lends the vehicle to a "Safari" motiff
too.

my omega team logo is a real rip off of the at logo. Same colors and design
pretty much only it's a big red OMEGA symbol with the words TEAM inside it.
Sounds cheasy but it looks cool.
