2 officers of a Utah based chapter of the GIJCC flew in Friday and
came to the dinner and dance, and came back again for a time Saturday
before hitting some of the other local hobby color, like
Entertrainment Junction. Very interesting hobby conversations, nice
guys. Seemed like they liked out club and the overall concept of the
type of show we do too. Some talk of maybe them coming and doing the
show with us next year. Will be cool to see what they work up if
things work out.
Lot of our members hit the Tuesday Morning stores bigtime, even adding
new items to the show ( not a lot of Korean War stuff out there ), and
buying up lots of other DML older and discontinued figures for future
"bashing fodder".
Last note, as I found it fun to see how many kids and some of their
teachers wanted to know how they could do what we do, both boys and
girls. Lot of interest in seeing how to mold their own items. Most of
the kids I spoke to, knew nothing about 1/6 or even could tell me a
brand name of a company, some only saying Barbie. One boy knew all
about Duke and Snake Eyes, none of these kids old enough to know
anything about vintage figures, but cleary they were having a ball.
