I just got done painting one of my guys' face. He's going to be a
desert sniper, so I colored his face a desert-tan color. Anyone else
paint their figures' face? And what kinda paint did you use?

I ordered the Gundam Weathering Markers from Good Stuff To Go (
http://www.goodstufftogo.net/ ) for $19. But I couldn't wait 'till
they came, so I used an oil based paint. Someone said not to do this,
but I couldn't help it! I could always get a new head if it ruins it.

Anyone else ever paint their figs face with oil paint? If so, how'd it
come out?

I've painted several faces. You MUST use acrylic paint. Anything else will
NEVER, EVER dry. I use Aero Masters Warbird Colors. I put on a base coat of
faded OD over the whole face, then I paint the high areas (cheeks, bridge of
nose, chin, forehead) with schwartzgrun. If I painted a desert guy, I would
use a light tan and put faded OD on the high areas. With a little practice,
I've gotten pretty good at it. So will you.

I'm a printmaker. Several years ago, I printed with oil based pigments onto a
plastic surface. It really looked good, for about a year. Then I noticed a
haloing effect around the image. Eventually it melted all of the way through.
Anyway, hope this helps. Your fellow Joe, G
