It seems that the great spiritual teachers through the ages were an inspiration. Jesus, Buddha, George Fox, Madame Blavatsky, St Francis etc They were inspired by God. They couldn't claim to be God just inspired by him. Christianity should in fact be Unitarian but that's another story. The key is being inspired and being an inspiraton. George Fox the founder of the Quakers was a Christian inspired mystic who taught that through quietness and stillness the inspired thinking comes and inspiration.

Can you elaborate on why St Francis of Assissi was a great teacher? I know he was a nature enthusiast.
