Subject: RCMP Threat

The RCMP and BC are not coming to terms on renewing the contract of the
RCMP to serve as a provincial police force. If an agreement is not made
soon, the RCMP is threatening to pull it's 6000 members (more than any
other province) out of the province starting in 2014.

The province is not happy with the degree of accountability (crossed
loyalies, perchance ....?) and services provided for the $300 million costs.

If they do pull out, it will not break many hearts in BC. Many remember
the dismantling of the BC Provincial Police and it's obliteration from
history.
Maybe it's time to bring them back ......
