Politics has been a lunchtime topic lately at work. I don't share my
views with coworkers but I can still have some fun when politics are
discussed. A guy I work with does much the same. Today the talk veered
in the direction of religion. My counterpart in fun making (he is very
funny) made a statement to the effect that he thought people should be
able to spend some time in both heaven and hell before they decided
where to go. He said he was concerned that only boring people went to
heaven. He (64 years old) felt that Elvis and the Stones would (or
were) hell bound and performers like Barry Manilow might be the best
that heaven could offer.

The Fair Tax gets discussed a lot. Those who talk about it sound like
zealots. They must all listen to the same radio talk show guys. I
respond that I'm for increasingly complex tax codes because my wife is
a tax accountant. As I type she's preparing for a meeting with the IRS
tomorrow. Her first local client ... needs some assistance. Let's hear
it for tax evaders who have to pay big for their come to Jesus meeting
with the Infernal Service!!

An article about the FDAs recent decision that cloned animals are safe
resulted in a lot of ajc.com comments. I added my thoughts. I wrote
that I thought cloning was only a first step. I stated that I wanted
the animals to be raised in identical environments, fed the same thing
at the same time, and be subjected to identical stimuli. I ended with:
Here's to t-bone uniformity!!

There's more but it will have to wait.
