TERROR FIGHTS BACK
In my most recent post "TERROR WILL LOSE" I outlined the specific
military strategy I believe we will use to defeat terrorism.
However, that does not mean the Terrorists will sit idly around
and do nothing when we attack them.
As a senior CIA official told Congress recently "It is 100%
certain we will suffer another Terrorist attack whether we attack
Afghanistan or not." (Or words to that effect.)
I sat down last night and prepared a list of 75 key general
target sectors the terrorists could attack in this country alone.
Within those 75 general sectors, there are perhaps tens of
thousands of actual targets. Can we defend all of those targets
from suicide type attackers? No, we cannot.
Can we protect every school, school bus, office building, private
plane, airport tarmac, railroad station, train, cargo truck,
cargo plane, water supply, food supply, utility station, military
base, nuclear energy plant, petrochemical plant, and news center
in our country simultaneously? No.
When I was in Vietnam, stationed in Can Tho, I witnessed two
ambulances drive through our main gate, calmly drive to our
airport, drive on the tarmac and while driving down the tarmac
Viet Cong contained in the ambulances shot each plane on the
tarmac with a M-79 grenade launcher. Then when they were
through, they simply drove out the back gate and down the road.
This was a "drive-by" on an airport!
These six or seven Viet Cong, equipped with simple weapons (that
look like big shotguns) destroyed an entire American Army air
base in about five minutes!
Today, if even only one terrorist vehicle can gain access to a
major airport tarmac, then can you imagine the resulting
devastation of the fuel heavy commercial aircraft and the
collateral damage that will occur to those passengers waiting for
their flights?
When the Taliban were fighting the Soviets, we sold them hundreds
of stinger missiles. Then after the Soviets departed the Taliban
tried to sell the weapons back to us. Of course we refused to
buy them back. I think we will regret that decision.
If thousands of tons of illegal drugs can be smuggled into this
country each year - then the dismantled parts of bombs and
stinger missiles can also be smuggled in. Our borders, are for
the most part, completely open due to the numerous trade
agreements we have established over the past few years. Can we
defend all commercial aircraft from stinger missiles fired by
suicide minded goons? No.
If the terrorists want to bring down UPS or Federal Express, all
they need to do is start sending bomb packages with altitude
detonation triggers to destinations that will require high
altitude flights. Can UPS or Federal Express afford to inspect
every package they receive? No.
If terrorists want to take some hostages, all they need to do is
walk into any typical high-rise office building and secure the
bottom floor and the roof. Can every office building in this
country afford to hire the necessary security to stop a
well-organized attack by suicide type terrorists? No.
The Viet Cong were also experts with mortars. They would steal
trucks, and while driving down a road fire several mortar rounds
from those moving trucks all at different altitudes. By firing
in this manner the mortar rounds would all fall in the same
general area within about ten seconds of each other. Can you
imagine what would happen if only one truck loaded with five or
six simple stove-pipe mortar launchers started firing from the NJ
Turnpike into the giant petrol.-chemical plants conveniently
located along the side the NJ Turnpike in Elizabeth New Jersey?
Can we inspect every truck in this country that drives by a
petrol.-chemical plant? No.
The Terrorists could also use the same type of motor attack from
moving vehicles or stationary points to attack key Government
buildings, schools or nuclear plants. Heavy mortars are easy to
carry and they resemble simple construction piping. Smuggling
them into this country should be child's play.
My point is that we cannot win against terrorism unless we
completely and utterly destroy them and all of their resources.
We cannot simply arrest one terrorist general like Osama Bin
Laden, when the backers and financiers of terrorism will simply
promote another to take Osama Bin Laden's place.
Nor can we possibly defend all of our potential targets, the
only way we can win is to completely eliminate all terrorist
resources and support. (Although I do believe we must try to
defend our targets, expecting complete security in regard to all
of our tens of thousands of targets is naive at best . . .
regardless of the heroic actions of our Police and Firefighters.)
This war is not against Osama Bin Laden, it is against those
governments and other entities, such as those so-called "Muslim
Charities" that are helping to fund, train and promote terrorism
to spread terrorism.
Many of those that contribute to these Muslim charities are
being told their contributions are being used to defend Islam and
spread the word of Allah. But in truth, these contributions are
being used to promote and train terrorist units that have nothing
to do with Allah or Islam, and a lot to do with drug smuggling
and murder for hire.
Moreover, regrettably, we must accept and realize there will be
many innocent people destroyed in this war. There will be those
that will be indoctrinated to fight us under the pretense they
are fighting a holy war . . . but in fact their fight is for
those devils that are misusing Islam for their own self-serving
and criminal activities. Unfortunately, we will be forced to
destroy them with an equal dispatch as those that are leading
them and deceiving them.
This is a sad reality of war.
We must also expect our enemies to finance groups of protesters
in this country, much like the Chinese Communists financed the
SDS war protests during the Vietnam war. We can also expect our
enemies to place their weapons of war amongst innocent civilian
populations so as to gain the sympathy of other Muslim nations
when we are forced to attack them.
We must also expect our enemies to kidnap and torture innocent
American hostages, probably on video for the world to see. They
will use such terror as propaganda to force some of the more
liberal of our population to cry for an end to the brutality of
war.
This will all happen, and it is something we must prepare for.
Once we attack and defeat the forces that are aiding and
harboring terrorists, we *must* establish new governments that
are world friendly. Call them puppet governments if you wish,
but if we do not (1) attack (2) occupy (3) control these rogue
entities and governments that are aiding and harboring terrorists
then it will be impossible for us to ever win this war.
For every Osama Bin Laden we capture or destroy, they will send
five more to take his place. Our enemy is clear, and our
tactics to eliminate the possibility of terrorist attacks on our
soil are equally clear.
Please do not allow your elected representatives to politicize
this war and try to win it with diplomacy. The Terrorists will
certainly sign all of our peace agreements, and then when we turn
our backs the American and Israeli people will be attacked again
and again.
Some politicians wish to simply delay the inevitable so some
other administration will be forced to deal with the hard
realities of a full scale war and all of the negative press it
will generate. That tactic might be good for the politician, but
it simply forces the plague of terrorism on our children, and
their children, at a degree then that is almost sure to involve
weapons of mass destruction.
We must destroy this plague completely and utterly, now, before
it is too late. We cannot leave hostile nations and governments
that support terrorism intact for our children to deal with.
You cannot negociate with fanatics, you cannot deal with them,
talk to them, appease them, nor believe anything they say or
sign. (Does anyone remember the so-called "Peace Accords" the
North Vietnamese signed in Paris? ...does anyone remember the
murders of the Olympic athletes by none other than Yasser
Arafat?)
We are in a war. A shooting war. In the face of this
incredible adversity our Government is trying its best to keep
our economy growing and preserve our way of life. And for that I
for one applaud them. Nevertheless, we must accept the fact and
the cost that the only way to win this war is total
unconditional victory over terrorism.
Regardless of our personal lives, ambitions and finances, and our
return to some normalcy, we must never forget September 11th.
We as Americans must realize that we must completely destroy our
enemy or they will certainly completely destroy us and our way of
life.
It is clear there is no other option but a cruel war and a
resulting total victory that will keep America safe. Just like
the cruel wars in the past that were necessary to keep our land
safe, this war will be just as cruel and just as important.
Never forget September 11th.

overthrow stable governments and reduce the rest of the mid east into

Terrorism may not be destroyed by our efforts but the United States must
charge a high price to anyone who makes war with us. We didn't win the Cold
War by allowing missiles on Cuba, dismantling NATO and leaving Europe to
fend on it's own, we did it through strength rather than weakness. We made
the price of action too high to consider and therefore kept hostile action
from taking place. This is happening to the United States not because we
put troops in Saudi Arabia but because we failed to put them in Baghdad as
well. It was our decision to leave Iraq intact and abide by the UN
Resolution and Clinton's weak efforts on bin Laden that resulted in this
attack, we've only made ourselves vulnerable by showing weakness rather than
strength. We won't make that mistake this time!

confrontational. Many of the extremist Muslim's use
indoctrination instead of education. The Mullah's are trying
their best to keep their power base, and their religion intact in
the face of a world that is going high-tech. There is no place
for "high-tech" in the Koran.
Nor in fact, in the Holy Bible, or in *any* religious teachings.
Strict fundamentalist religious types are *all* destined
eventually to clash with biological science and a technology that
contradicts their philosophies. Does anyone remember Jim Jones?
David Koresh? How about those Japanese sects that released Sarin
nerve gas in their subways?
We have had our share of zealots, extremists and such. And so
have the Muslims.
I doubt seriously if we are after the average Muslim. They are a
practical and wise people. However, there are Muslim extremists
that have gained power through civil war, our own doing, and by
other means. Those are our true enemies not the Muslim world.
To put it strictly in an American perspective, think of it as
attacking a group of people all with the mind set of Jim Jones.
