I am a senior that want to start star gazing. Can someone tell me if
there is a big difference between the LX90-ACF and the LX200-GPS?

Price is one. :-)

And the LX200GPS was replaced by the LX200ACF (formerly LX200R); it
has more features including the mirror lock.

Hi Jerry,

There is a big difference. If you have the money take the LX200.
You will be missing nearly nothing. LX90 has a very restricted
database. No mirror lock, no zero image shift motorized focuser.
All is a little bit fainter. The weight is about the half of an LX200.
But maybe is the latter the most important for you.

My scope is a 12" LX200 and it is really heavy, but i love it, because
it is rock solid.
GOTO is nearly perfect and together with a 31mm Nagler and a 13mm
Ethos it is only fun.

Also, at this point in time, there are severe problems with the
LX90 as reported in Rod Mollise's sct-user Yahoo group. And, if
you're sitting down and don't mind getting a few gray hairs:
