A giant battery manufactured by Tesla has burst into flames
at a major storage facility with firefighters told to not
extinguish the blaze.
The new giant lithium battery ignited at Genex Power's
Bouldercombe battery project, 20km south of Rockhampton, in
Queensland, at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
However, firefighters from Queensland Fire and Emergency
Services were told not to douse the flames.
The advice is understood to have come from Tesla with the
manufacturer telling emergency crews to let the fire burn out.
. . .
60 MILLION up in lithium flames !
And no, you really CAN'T put 'em out.
I see more and more news bits about lithium
vehicle batteries suddenly exploding. A growing
number of related death are also adding up.
Look, the things ARE NOT SAFE. Don't think they
CAN be. "Alternative" lithium tech keeps being
proposed/reported - but it's lab-tech and cannot
be scaled-up to market.
