Hello, I will be using SLE4442 cards in the company where I work, but
I have to take a decision between designing a new reader hardware or
using an old one we already have by only modifying the firmware.

I'm new to the SLE4442 and I just toke a quick look to the datasheets,
there are some things I would like to be cleared up..

The point is: is the RST line absolutely necessary? What can be (and
cannot be) done on this card by using a device supporting SCL and SDA
lines only?

thanks in advance

we did not buy it, we made it, I'm in a company that produces hotel
automation systems and we already have a reader, but this machine
reads I2cbus-style memory cards, so it only has 2 lines to handle the
communication (SDA - SCL)

I was wondering if this reader could be transformed into a SLE4442
reader by only a sotfware modification, without re-designing the
PCB...

thankyou..
