That's the major current theory, but it seems the original theory
sprang from the Battle of Monongahela, when the Frogs raised an

There is no "popular vote" for President- the Constitution leaves it
up to the individual state legislatures to appoint electors as they
see fit. The "vote for president" is a well established state by state
popularity contest, and even then it's a joke, where the individual
legislatures have hokey rules about what that means and how the
electors are appointed. So when I hear Dems say "Bush stole the
election and the Supreme Court helped him", or "Hillary won the
popular vote", I want to cringe or puke at the idea we've got people
in power who talk all day about "the founders" and the Constitution
who never fucking read it.
