Hi all,

With the demise of so many talkers over the years myself and a few others have gotten together to release a newer version of 1.0.11 Playground Plus Code, the new version now compiles cleanly on most linux flavours however we are still working on getting it correct for the one's it won't work on,

We are pleased to announce the release of 1.0.12 which included all of the fixes mentioned as well as some cool new additions to the code, this can be downloaded from http://www.pgplus.org

We are also in the process of releasing a version 1.0.13 which will have more bug fixes as well as some cool new features. There is a beta online and running of this so let me know if you wanna drop by and check it out!

As well as this we are also in the process of discussing writing a Version 2 of PG+, We are looking to try to keep as much of the original design as possible however we are wanting it to be run on newer language with a Database PFile system with this we are discussing the possibility of including Audio files as well as Pictures with its own Client, i know some places have this feature with the use of the pueblo client, however we are looking at re-writing playground plus with these additions and hopefully releasing a Server as well as a Client, We want to make it as user friendly and simple to use as possible whilst keeping the original functionality of what we all know and love of a talker.

With this being said i am proud to introduce myself as the new lead developer of the code and also new host for pgplus.org, with life getting in the way Grim was unable to keep hosting the pgplus.ewtoo.org website and after being attacked several times he was struggling to keep recovering it, after 10 years of working on the project i contacted him as well as Silver (Richard Lawrence) about taking over the project with original credits in place.

With these new versions i am pleased to announce the return of an original developer of 1.0.11 Mikael Segercrantz aka Segtor, together we are the commanding force for the new features and wish to thank everyone who has submitted bugs and ideas to make the code what it is currently standing at. Also must give a mention to Anthony Mcdonald who helped some with 1.0.12 and the implementation of inline Cname as well as some other additions.

Some of the tested flavours for 1.0.12, include:

Redhat
CentOS
Debian
Fedora
Ubuntu
Slackware

anyway enough of my speech, if you wanna check out the progress of 1.0.13 then drop me a line or if you want to download 1.0.12 the website and code can be located at playground plus' new homepage http://www.pgplus.org

For now Take care and hope to see you all on talkers soon.

Regards

Dan
