This, combined with the phantom-moderation of the group now, makes for
low traffic levels. I know that several sites simply do not carry any
posts in this group unless they have an "Approved:" line in the header.
Without it, propagation just goes into the toilet.

To folks out there wondering why traffic sucks... Get a newsreader that
allows you to insert extra header lines into your posts. I would guess
that Forte's Agent (and possibly Free Agent as well) allows this on the
PC side of things. YA-Newswatcher allows it on the Mac end.

Once you have a program that allows you to add extra header lines, just
add the following line to your news post header:

Approved: bl...@blah.blah.com

It really doesn't matter what you put after "Approved:", in my experience.
This one line allows your post to work its way around the phantom moderation
of this newsgroup, and propagate far better than it otherwise would. A
recent example of such posts are the ones from Tall Thin Jones. His posts
propagated to the news providers that refuse to carry non-approved posts
to a moderated group.

I am usually surprised (often pleasantly) to see traffic on my end of things
since at least one news provider I use does not carry non-approved posts.
I can read the non-approved posts elsewhere, but don't check that site
very often.
