My Oasis of Calm has dried up. However, my Garden of Angry is
flourishing quite nicely.

That was, I'll agree, fun to watch but I was a tad disappointed by it. I
thought it was showing a new technique for getting rid of sensitive data
so that it couldn't be recovered. Would have been *much* more BOFHish.

Do not meddle in the affairs of gurus,

Having just watched it at home, it's *much* better without sound.

As does, now I glance at the TV, 'Batman & Robin'.

Thermite is your friend. 50% aluminium dust, 50% iron oxide. Mix, then
place on top of unwanted data. Ignite with a sparkler.

For added "Oooh shiny!" replace iron oxide with manganese dioxide.

If you really want to be sure, replace the iron oxide with yrnq bkvqr but
don't stand downwind. Not only is it much hotter, the residue is in the
form of vapor.

Sounds a bit like Apple's iPrint Shuffle: you press a button and it
prints something somewhere at random.

When I saw what looked like old Compaq server drive caddies, my heart
leapt for joy. Entirely too many simultaneous failures of those just
lately[0]. -- Joe

[0] Of course a 12-drive RAID-5 is not exactly the best configuration to
use any drives in, even good ones.
