I had occasion (again) to call the Great Telephone Experiment (again)
to report trouble on our ISDN lines (again). The support-droid felt
it necessary to put me on hold. I'm not sure if GTE has a DJ like Gateway
does, but they were playing a tune...

"One day you're up, one day you're down!"

Gee! no, GTE!

News Flash: Microsoft acquires Electrolux, makes extensive design
revisions. Finally releases a product that doesn't suck.

In '95 my gf and I attended the Internet World trade show in California.
It wasn't until halfway through the day that we noticed the music
playing in some of the display booths.

At the AT&T Worldnet booth, they played ELO's "Telephone Line"
(it's about a guy who keeps calling, but the other end won't answer).

At the GNN (Compu$erve) booth they had the best one, though. It was
a Pet Shop Boys song with the chorus:

What have I,
What have I,
What have I done to deserve this?

We looked at each other and burst out laughing. Scared the budding
marketroid who was trying to hand pamphlets to us.
