It's now 28 years since I last fingered the front panel on a real live
PDP-8/E and I have been trying to regain some of my lost youth by building a
front panel/simulator similar to the system described by Henk Gooijen at
www.pdp-11.nl/homebrew/pdp/pdp8&startpage.html

I would be grateful if someone with a real front panel could tell me which
of the switches on it are 'keys' (momentary contact) and which are
'switches' (fixed position). My greatest confusion is with the 'Single-Step'
and the 'Halt'. The Small Computer Handbook of 1972 says they are switches,
yet the Hardware Maintenance Manual says they are keys. Can anyone refresh
my memory please?

Regards,
Phil.
