Dear Sirs,

I live in Switzerland and I would like to much to have a PDP 11 but unfortunately I never had a chance to have a computer like this. To complete my
collection there would be great to have a PDP, but I do not know where I can look for. Did you know where I can find one in Switzerland area.

Thanks for your help and best regards,

Try searching eBay, say for a PDP 11/23. There is one for sale at US
$500.
Most PDP-11 systems are pretty heavy. Shipping is expensive, even for
the smaller models, like the 11/23 or 11/73.
If you're looking for an 11/34 or 11/44 then you've got to drive
yourself..

They don't have freight service companies in Europe that will go
someplace, pick up your stuff, pack it for freight shipment, and drop
it off at a freight shipper?

I rely heavily on Crater & Freighters in the US for these sorts of
things. With one exception when I purchased a sh*tload of SGI gear,
I've used them for delivering all the heavy stuff I've bought.

Most parcels are sent by mail or DHL et. al. They will carry heavy
gear but are costly.
I'm not familiar with Crater & Freighters but the OP may be check
their site for a European presence.

In the US, DHL doesn't exist anymore, regular UPS and FedEx delivery
will not handle anything that is considered "freight". Something is
considered "freight" if it exceeds a size or weight limit.

UPS has a freight service, but unlike Craters & Freighters, they won't
pick up the items and pack them for freight handling, as far as I
know. I looked at their web site describing their freight services
and it seems more oriented towards business that pack their own items
and have it available for pickup at their own loading dock. FedEx
also has a freight service and it seems geared towards business like
UPS.

C&F doesn't have a European presence. They don't even have a Canadian
presence. At one point I needed something shipped from the UK to the
US and I tried getting a quote from DHL's web site, but it proved
impossible because their web site was engineered with the assumption
that since my IP address was in the US I would never want a quote to
go from another country to the US, but only from the US to another
country. I gave up and had the seller work it out on their end.
Again, I don't know if DHL provides the full service of picking up the
item and packing it for shipment like C&F does.

You could try contacting what was Radio Suisse in Berne (Laupenstrasse 18 is where they were - whatever is left is now
embedded in Swisscom I think). That is where I worked on the 4 11/70s and some 11/44s that ran our message switching
software (in the 80s).
They also had some other PDPs do various bits and pieces - so they might still have something.
