We have just reinstalled Windows 95 onto a friends Packard Bell Executive
Multimedia PC.

Windows 95 finds the sound card as AZT 2320, but does not seem to contain a
driver for it. Using "other location", we have tried searching the multitude
of CD's and floppies that came with the PC but to no avail. We have searched
the WWW for a compatible driver and have found copies of :-

AZTAUD.DRV
AZTAUDV.VXD
AZTMPU.DRV
AZTMPUV.VXD
AZT16W.DRV
AZT16.VXD

but do not know how to implement them. The instructions say to replace
originals in \windows\system but of course we do not yet have them
registered.

Please Help if you know what to do next.

Best Regards

Adrian

Adrian,
The drivers for the sound should be located in C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS

Try this:Copy the files into windows/system then point windows to
C:/windows/system when it asks where the drivers are. Or go here and
download the full set of drivers that will make 3 floppy disks to
install the drivers.
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Pines/9725/pbaudio.htm

Hope this helps.

Dogs come when you call them. Cats have answering machines.

Problem is now solved. I installed the whole lot directly from PB's disks
instead of my own. It did everything for me including nationality, keyboard,
sound etc. I was trying to be too clever!!!!!!

Thanks for help received though... much appreciated.

Adrian
