I get an echo effect on my speakers. It is fine and nice on music but bad
on voice. Is there a way to turn the echo off or down? TIA

You want to change the "Wave Out Reverb" control.
Start -> Programs -> Sound Blaster AWE64 -> Creative Mixer
There should be a toggle button somewhere on the mixer panel.
