Greetings!!

Please help me to solve problem with Dell latitude CPi with 13.3' LCD.

I had run some kids CD and laptop hanged. When I rebooted, Text is
displayed very small in the center of the screen, not using full
screen. I think this kids CD changed the screen to small and left it
without changing it back. Now If I go to DOS full screen mode, It
always uses small portion of screen in the center to display text. It
is same while booting also. How can it be changed to use full screen
in DOS mode. Is there in DOS/WINDOWS utility to change it

Thanks
Kenny

How about, when in DOS mode, hit the funtion(fn) and F7 or F8. One of those
should say 'Font' on it. I think its F7
Function being the "Fn" key near the bottom left of the keyboard.

Hello Da Kine,
Thanks for your suggestion. I changed the screen to 800x600, it
changes to 800x600 but it uses only small portion of the screen. It
seems that when it is changed to 800x600, it uses only 800x600 pixels
out 1024x768 pixels. In DOS mode, it uses only 640x480 pixels. Kindly
guide me to solve this problem. The video adaptor is NeoMagicGraph
128XD and LCD supports maximum of 1024x768 pixels.

Thanks,
Kenny

Hello Geoff,

I have already tried MODE co80, but it is not using full screen. It
seems to use only 640x480 pixels in center out of 1024x768 pixels.
Even while booting it uses only 640x480 pixels. Is there any other way
I can solve this problem.

Thanks,
Kenny

That's normal on an LCD panel. They don't work like CRTs. If it isn't
using the maximum resolution of the screen, it shows up small.

There is a BIOS option to 'stretch' to fullscreen, but it sure is ugly.

Your computer is designed for 1024x768. That's what it works at.

Try hitting Fn F7 (or key with font written on it). This makes a
change in the bios.

DOS mode uses full LCD screen, when I pressed "function+F7". Thanks
for helping to solve this problem.

Try Fn-F7. Look for a function key that is marked "Font"--on my CPiA it's
the F7 key, so to engage it I press the Fn key in conjunction with the F7
key.

That toggles the display between native resolution and full screen. The
full resolution of the 13.3" screen is 1024x768, but a DOS display is only
640x400. Thus, at native resolution a DOS screen will fill only the center
640x400 portion of the screen. The "Font" function key stretches it to
fill the whole screen, albeit with artifacts (blocky text and such).
