I am looking into buying a ZIP drive for my R350. From looking at
comparisons on comparenet, this place called Netmarket had a USB ZIP for
$105. As compared to the $130 from Buy.com and NECX. The deal is that you
join their group, and you get a member discount, and then you get an
additional $10 discount for trying the trial. They advertise it as being a
free 3 month trial.
Does anybody know much about this company? Anything about this offer?

Thanks,
WingsMan

They are affiliated with AOL (maybe partly owned by them?). Most items are
drop shipped from various wholesalers, or manufacturers, it appears. I have
ordered several items in the past, all of which were drop shipped. All came
in good order. I am not sure wether it is worth the $59.95/year membership
fee for me. I suppose it depends on how much merchandise you buy through
them.

Mr. Gauthier is correct for the most part; I would, however, like to
clarify some points. Netmarket does have an affinity partnership with
AOL to promote the service on AOL, but AOL does not own Netmarket,
either wholly or in part. We ship all of our merchandise either
directly from the manufacturer or from their authorized dealers. If a
manufacturer should revoke a dealer's authority to sell its products,
we will no longer use that dealer as a source. As for the membership
fee, it is an annual fee and can often be recouped through the savings
realized on one or two purchases. Anyone who desires more information
about Netmarket on AOL can call our tollfree number at 1-800-843-7777
and speak to one of our representatives, or contact me via email at the
address below and I will be happy to answer your questions.

Sincerely,

Wayne Harriman

Have you checked Shopper.com to compare prices? I recently checked
their site on a USB ZIP, and if I remember it correctly it was
available for ~$100.99 or something close to that. Plus, most of the
retailers presented there require no membership.

PS: If you are concerned about an online reseller's reputation, check
out www.resellerratings.com. I've found that site to be very helpful.
