My 600T came down configured with a Cinemaster DVD decoder card
connected by ribbon cable to an ATI AGP video card. However, in order
to drive an IBM T55D digital flat panel, I had to swap out the ATI for
a Matrox G200 digital video card. Since the Matrox wasn't compatible
with the Cinemaster, I just left the ribbon cable disconnected for now.
The system works fine like this, except of course I have no DVD
playback.

My questions are - How do I logically remove the Cinemaster card and
any associated software from my system, and can anyone recommend a good
software decoder for the Dell 8x DVD drive?

Thanks in advance!

- John

If you have the Matrox Marvel G200-TV, you can get upgrade of DVD player
add-on card. The Matrox Marvel G400-TV comes with it already. I don't know
if this will all work because I am not sure of exact what config you have
in your system.

John look for POWERDVD. Go to the Digital Digest site, look for DVD
Digest, under softwere decoders, they will have PowerDVD it hotlinks to
trial and other stuff(HINT HINT) you can get a great softwere decoder
there.

ENJOY,

The Cinemaster software decoder is excellent; if you can find someone
selling that, you're inbusiness.

I also purchased Cyberlink's PowerDVD which is almost as good, but has
one really great feature: It lets you do captures to a file if you
turn off hardware acceleration.

I have the MGI Softdvd software, it is 20 bucks from Digital River ( I
think it was a link from Buy.Com). There is Power DVD which is
supposedly better. I have a hacked version of Power DVD and havn't
had much luck with getting it to work.
