I have a Compaq with winodws 98 SE.

On one of the disks are 3 very large directories CPQDRV,CPQS and DATA.
Please tell me what they are and do I need them to run normal
operations?
May I delete them? What is the result? e.g. What can't I do?

I still have the original CD's for Quick Restore.

Thanks in advance,

Loner - please reply to news group

These are all the drivers required to recover your PC if you need to run the
recovery CD. If you sent of for and recieved your quick restore CD's then
you can in princible delete these directories.

There is a difference between "restore" disks
and "recover" disks, the "Restore" disk may have a warning
"This Disk Erases All DATA, so backup before using".

If QR is in your own, don't worry and delete these directories...
CPQDRV contains all drivers (in compressed state) CPQS some appz to launch
QR process and DATA contains all progs (Win9x, Word, ...) / all these are
just needed if you don't own QR cd... to launch QR process from D: drive...
