The Alpha Micro Reunion is only four weeks away. Please book ASAP. Dates are October 25th to October 27th 2013 at the Holiday Inn in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Local airport is Sky Harbor (PHX). Fountain Hills, 40 minutes from PHX, is home to our host, Christensen Computer Company. The event is not affiliated with Alpha Micro.
The purpose of the event is three fold; social, biz (passing on legacy), and tech (issues and futures). Spouses are welcome.
Tentative schedule:
Fri Oct 25th 7pm-10pm: Evening dinner and drinks at Holiday Inn. Primarily social. Chance to update each other about our lives and tech. Attendees are expected to straggle in as they arrive.
Sat Oct 26th 8am-10am: Group breakfast. Social. Local Fountain Hills activity such as a 5km digestive walk.
Sat Oct 26th Lunchtime: Lunch somewhere in Fountain Hills. Perhaps we will split up into personal interest groups; retirement, travel, golf, Microsabio, Softworks, Windows, *nix. Tech emphasis on conversions, cloud computing, creating REST+JSON APIs, mobile development, MAP reflection.
Sat Oct 26th Dinner: Pizza dinner at nearby Christensen Computer Company. Transportation provided. Formal group conversation about biz legacy and tech talk.
Sun Oct 27th 8am-10am: Group breakfast at nearby Euro Café in front of famous fountain. Local Fountain Hills activity such as a 5km digestive walk.
Sun Oct 27th Lunchtime: Lunch at nearby Christensen Computer Company. Transportation provided. Formal subgroup (Microsabio, Softworks, ...) working sessions.
Sun Oct 27th Afternoon and Evening - one-on-one time, farewells and departures for most.
Mon Oct 28th to Oct 29th. Softworks workshop by appointments.
The reunion is free but each attendee must make their own transportation and hotel arrangements, and pay for their own meals and other expenses. Meals at Christensen Computers are freebies.
Holiday Inn of Fountain Hills is reserving 40 rooms. We have a special group rate of $72.00 + tax. Group rates and pre-reserved rooms expire October 1st, 2013 so don't delay your booking.
