Programs:

IATP
Programs
Environment & Agriculture
How we are working toward conservation-based development including our
activities in watershed organizing and protection, marketing sustainable
agriculture, certified forestry, nutrient and pesticide management and toxins
and industrial pollutants

Food & Agriculture
How we are working to promote policies that enhance sustainable food security
and the right to food including the Global Food Policy, Sustainable Food
Systems and the Inter-American Integration Projects

Forestry
How we are working to help rural people, urban communities and counties find
ways to manage their woodlots and forests more profitably and sustainably by
ensuring that the proper economic, scientific, ecological, educational, legal,
and social structures are in place to support sustainable forest management
practices. Areas of work include Forest Stewardship Council certification,
market development, carbon credits, and ecological landscape assessments.

Global Governance
Global forces affect nearly every aspect of food, agricultural and
environmental policy. For this reason, IATP devotes significant attention to
international policymaking institutions, cross-border organizing and
collaboration with partners around the planet, with an emphasis on the history
that has brought us to where we are today

Trade & Agriculture
How we are focusing on international trade policies, practices and treaties
that affect consumers, farmers and rural communities including the WTO rules
governing agriculture and patents over plants and other living materials. The
program focuses especially on the Uruguay Round Agreements on Agriculture and
on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs), as well as on
regional trade integration treaties and national laws and policies that affect
food production, including the introduction of genetically modified foods
